Hi guys

 

I am riding a FM Plate Steed 400 VLX.

 

There is oil leaking from the engine, and my engine oil needs to be topped up very frequent.

 

May I know what could be the cause of the leakage and how much does it take to repair it?

Oil can leak from many places.

Can you locate the source of the leak?

Then we will have a better idea of what is involved.

1k for stock bike. (quoted by planet motor before his exporter went bankrupt due to 6 container of bikes went missing)

 

available in april 2014 after COE/Ins/Rd tax expires

tyres, chain/sprocket all good.

engine, electrical, cooling system all sweet.

basically still good for another long long trip.

paintwork original but faded already. chrome still nice.

If no takers, i'll have to keep it somewhere else.

 

oh ya, i'll keep the number plate.

Try aunty shop at kaki bukit. Last time she said she had exhaust for steed. Either straight thru or fishtail pipes. Not too sure.

Try find the part# of the pipe that fit your bike in either screaming eagle or cobra official website. Then try search for the part# in eBay or amazon or cruisercustomizing or other jcmotor or any websites that u know of, after that compare the prices before purchase. Do take note that the shipping cost should be quite pricey. Cheers.

Custom made tank will be costly. Why not try looking for other bike model's tank and customize it to fit to your steed?

Want my sportster tank? It'll be sitting on the chassis. Depends whether u like or not. But must relocate the fuel tap.

If u have a deep pocket to mod the base of the tank to sit onto the frame nicely, then the look will be simply awesome. Im a budget modder so that's why im selling the tank away.

Question for VLX owners: is there an "off" position for the petc0ck? I can't seem to stop the flow of petrol. Many times I left it in the "off" position and manage to ride 30km. I'm thinking maybe my petc0ck isn't working properly.

 

I've been wanting to take out my tank to work on the carbs but don't want to make a flammable mess trying to switch off the petc0ck.

You probably have a leaky gasket. I got a similar V-twin done for about $150. I bought the gaskets.

Be careful. Check your oil level often. Lack of oil can kill engine.

I'm selling my ride here as i have outgrown my ride. been with me almost 3 yrs now. been up to kl twice. time for upgrade

 

Coe renew last yr jan so u get a good 9 years with her.

 

interested parties let me know. i letting go at 5k willing to nego.

 

extras are. wat eva u see.

 

which i wanna highlight. rear fender have been remade cause previous owner had it chopped. so i wrote into lta to get it fix up again. inspection pass no problems..

 

seat have been made to measure as is also fenders.

 

whitewall abit yellowish after 2yrs+ of use.

 

high handlebar need to replace for inspection. the throttle cables, brakes hoses, clutch cable are all long enough for what ever bars u wanna put it on. though if you going for lower handlebar i suggest get them changed. cables can fit on stock handlebar no problems.

 

paint is 9/10 with minor scratches.

I have an idea of using the tank from a CM125. No time to do yet but seem the base wide enuf to clear the chassis. Capacity same as steed tank too and got the peanut tank look. Can consider that.
