Mine is just kids stuff compared to urs! Can't wait to see ur finished bike.. Yeah tried it on b4 welding. Plenty of clearance cos it's welded at the edge of the riser. And riding position is nice and stretched out.. Haha.. It'll clear the springer tank,but not sure if it'll clear the stock VLX tank or not.. Chrome is out.. I got a neighbour that does powdercoat,but I dunno wat colour for it.. So rusty handlebar is ok for sometime till I can think of a colour.. Oh ya,if I were to use 1.2inch den gotta make the bars 5pc instead of 3. Cos I'm still using stock levers and brake pump. Right now u see the tapered part when the grips are installed..

dun have to make 5 pcs la.. haha u can always offset the 7/8 section. u cant really see the diff with the grips on but it will clear the master cylinder and clutch with no problems. if u wanna powder coat then stick to solid colours.. simple design is still the best design.

I just bought mine from Auntie Shop.

Drag bar with a light degree of sweep.

and a pair of 4 inches riser. got it for $140. haven't fit it on yet.

riding a steed springer so have to custom the light indicators and speedometer holder.

Thanks Bro....anyway where u get the custom speedometer holder? I am afraid that after i fix the handlebar it will blk the speedo...

still in the process of customizing one.

can share with you my process once its done.

Woohoo!!!! bars have been changed.

Loving the drag handling.

Pretty straight forward installation actually.

just need the space and drills.

 

summary:

dismantle everything.

fit the risers.

drill hold on new bar for exact fit of controls.

tighten riser.

tighten bar.

put everything back on.

speedo: got an old lever. saw off unwanted area. used remaining as bracket for holding speedo. light indicators temporary cable tied it. gotta do up a simple mounting plate.

I did it on Wednesday at my mechanic workshop. Borrowed some tools from him. I took some pix but doesn't tell much.

 

T1, thanks for offering your place but I was too anxious that day. So got it done at yishun industrial.

Hello Bros, I'm a new Steed rider soon. Will be collecting my bike by this week if nothing goes wrong. :) I'd read about some of the "projects" that you guys had done from the past posts.. I am interested too and hope you guys, seniors, can advise me. Pls let me know the place i can go to and the estimated cost.

Old boy, you can get some lowering kits to get ur seat lowered. I think rosli can order in for you if i am not wrong.

 

You took over Ultimax's bike? I think it's already lowered. I got rear lowering kit for Steed/Shadow 600.. Anyone interested pls PM me :cheers:

saw your friend's steed at amk awhile back, nice ride..

 

can someone help me out here, let say to lower the rear of the steed , does it involve a lot of custom works or is it as easy and changing to a shorter suspension?

 

im getting my steed in about a week's time or so and it's the first time im going to ride a cruiser, so many things im still not very sure. Btw here's a shout out to all forumers here, ride safe!

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.
