Marco u wana mod the steed like that? Here's how. Get a steed first, buy a sportster tank (gd luck with that), mod the rear fender like what t1 is currently doing, cut the frame, fabricate a seat like nomad and u can buy the exhaust from chong Aik ( got quote of 450). Total cost will be abt 1k if diy excluding the bike price. My steed mod costed Abt 800 including spray (fender, seat, brakelites- diy, welding and spraying have to send to shop.)

Can try ah boy shop or the auntie shop for the saddlebags. Good or not? Hmmmm for other parts can try chong Aik, everfit, eversuccess and fjt.

Also using shinko tour master for the rear and so far not bad. Quite good grip in rainy and dry days. Definitely cheaper than metzelers or bridgestones.

not forgetting to fabricate a new Triple Tree to give it the additional rake. new headlight, relocate signals, new air filter cover, custom side covers. talking about sounds fun.

Haha.. Marco,we're all into budget low cost diy mods.. The cost of the side covers itself is enough for me to complete my bike minus paint..

you dun have to buy the whole range that is meant for Honda Shadow 600 aka Steed 400 (locally known as) As I dun think the side mounted license plate holder is feasible here. There are other Kits for other make and model.

painted my fork legs this morning.. Wanted to spray the Vespa floor board paint at first,but it's pretty ex.. I had a neighbour who sprayed the whole of his Vespa w that and it looks bloody wicked.. I bought a can of 3M undercoat spray,pretty much the same effect but minus the sandpaper look my neighbour's bike has.. No choice,tight budget

Sorry to intrude guys, I'd recently decided to forego my streetbike and join the cruiser family. Getting a new cruiser is sort of pointless cos I'll probably wanna customise the bike to my comfort and liking.

 

May any of you point me in a general direction whether getting a Honda Steed or Suzuki Intruder is better?

IMHO Suzuki Intruder is out even tho it's a nice bike.. There are very limited numbers out there on the road, and parts wise pretty ex.. Yamaha Dragstar,Honda Shadow and Steed will be your best bet..

Actually my preference goes to Steed out of the 3 cos I'm da skinny sort of guys. haha... roger that. Will keep a look out for Steed then.

 

any mod master out here that I can seek advice from?
