I'm also working on a steed project. Basically a copycat idea from Roland Sands. Nice to know people who share the same passion.

Any suggestions to replace the clunky handcontrols?

Nice work so far dude. That's a sick tank. I relocated the engine start push button somewhere else and replace the throttle housing with a single cable type. U can get 1 inch type easily from Ebay. I can I've u a contact from states who sells if if u want. For the left side I use a Vespa turn signal switch, u'll lose the leas light but who cares? I mounted the hi/low beam switch on the headlight itself, but u can just ditch it and wire it to low beam. If u wanna use internal throttle assy u might need to use a type of cable meant for bicycle called Nokon cos of the kink in ur bar.

The clutch and brake lever assembly can leave stock? I kinda forgot how it looked. Havent seen the bike up close for about 2 mths..hahaha. Any one keen to go suicide shifter? Foot clutch? Leaves the bars clean..Me likey. Might buang though. LOL

Tks guys. I had my tank, handlebars and side plates customized by ah an at kaki bukit. It's just a few shops before Motorworld. Rear fender from bluecollarbobbers. Would be sending my pipes for customizing as well. Not running the Frnt fender. Cheap rattle can spray on frame and rims.

Sweet mods dude~ Yes it's a far cry from RS bikes because IT"S EVEN BETTER~! muwahahahah~~!!! We are all inspired by someone when we mod our bikes. Ah An did a great job. Can wait to see all our bikes together. Any biker will be scratching their heads, wondering who are these guys and what are they riding????

U might wanna make a fork brace prevent ur front end from flexing. Quite easy to do it u make it the RSD way. Haha.

 

I need to get help putting the exhaust back on. Very hard to do it alone. And somehow I lost side of my rear turn signal cables. Can anyone help me take a pic to see where it come out from? One side is together with the tail light wires, the other? I think I'm just tired.

Hey T1 bro, I had tried removing and putting on another exhausts myself.. I never tighten all the nuts till both the exhausts are in place so that you can adjust the exhausts alittle to get it in place. It took me some time to put up the exhausts so using a stood to sit on will help you.

Thanks bro, will try again tomoro. Didn't get enough sleep last night. I just need to mount the pipes, paint and wrap the seat and I'm done. But I still haven't got suitable foam for the pillion seat. Gonna rattle can spray my tins and send to paint shop for clear. Low budget, no choice. I think I'll missthe self imposed deadline this sat. Sad

Have u made the side covers yet?

Yes the side plates are done. They are painted black and sit within the triangular part of the cut frame. The frame is exposed. Not really the best look but I admire the hand fabrication done. I don't have a clear pic now. Will post a more completed version soon.

 

I'm really curious how the Japs use jockey shifters and a foot clutch. I came across an episode of biker build off which, illustrated if you clutch in and use the rear brake at the same time, you will topple cos you wouldn't be able to put yr foot down. Was thinking of not running the front brake but it's just asking for trouble la hor? Rear brake is drum brake some more..hehe

 

Anyone know of this type of jockey shifter kit?

U can hook up a brake pump or ur rear brake pedal for the front brake. Nit hard to do. Suicide shift to me is silly. Ur best bet is internal twist clutch. Can get from eBay. USD150+- for throttle and clutch if I remember correctly
