Yes the side plates are done. They are painted black and sit within the triangular part of the cut frame. The frame is exposed. Not really the best look but I admire the hand fabrication done. I don't have a clear pic now. Will post a more completed version soon.

 

I'm really curious how the Japs use jockey shifters and a foot clutch. I came across an episode of biker build off which, illustrated if you clutch in and use the rear brake at the same time, you will topple cos you wouldn't be able to put yr foot down. Was thinking of not running the front brake but it's just asking for trouble la hor? Rear brake is drum brake some more..hehe

 

Anyone know of this type of jockey shifter kit?

U can have a clean bar if u go with my suggestion.

 

Just painted my front and rear fenders and I'm pretty stoked on the results. Anyone knows how much it'll cost to just do a clear coat for tank and 2 fenders?

Aiyah, guys... I left Ah ann's contact in a few posts before this.. So now you've seen what Ah ann's capable of... Just did my New rear fender recently (cos the phantom one cracked). He's at the K-B industrial, the blue colour building.. Yep, 2-3 shops down from Motoworld. Sharing shop with a guy who does MX bikes, and Harleys as well..

 

T1, can try RSP painting. Good work and reasonable pricing. You cutting your subframe? If not, the signal lights may be screwed into the mounting holes for the original fender. Same screw thread some more..Niwei, have to wait till got money to spray my rear fender.

 

And can put me down on April 16, unless something crops up.. heeeee

haha you're quick to make replacement sprint! what fender did you use to mod this fender this time?

 

Bought from a fellow forummer for $70. It's a metal fender which was fabricated. Niwei, no time to chop it up myself so sent to Ah ann to do everything for me. About $200 to mod the struts, chop the fender and weld new mountings and fix the brake lights. Also moved my IU to the right side. Now considering moving speedo to the other side. heeeee

U might wanna make a fork brace prevent ur front end from flexing. Quite easy to do it u make it the RSD way. Haha.

 

I need to get help putting the exhaust back on. Very hard to do it alone. And somehow I lost side of my rear turn signal cables. Can anyone help me take a pic to see where it come out from? One side is together with the tail light wires, the other? I think I'm just tired.

 

Your other signal wires are on the left side of the bike (grouped together in a rubber protector). 3 wires together, green, orange and brown. connect the orange and green one (earth). The brown one for the parking light (permanently on like the front one). Will your bike be ready by next friday? Hmmmmm

And dunno why it's so hard to put back your exhaust. I dismantled it when modding it and managed to put it back in by myself. Need help just SMS me lah bro...

Got icemanX and the bro riding the 600 steed with the matt black parts and neon red frame (think one of you guys saw him on the roads before) to join as well for the meet up. That makes oldboy, nomad, icemanX, steed 600 (dunno wat's his nick ) aka Ayi, me = 5 steed bros. I'll try to get Foosball (I think) to join. He's the one who bought the black bobber springer (the one that was advertised and sold last year).. Saw the bike close up and quite awesome mods done..

Ya bike should be ready middle of next week. Sent my tins for clear coat just now, but I think I wanna redo the tank. Just need pop the exhaust back on and make a bracket for the stupid IU. Pillion seat haven't wrap but that wan not so imp. See u all next week

Service like how? Change the hydraulic fluid inside the suspension? The cost of servicing is almost like buying a 2nd hand shock. Niwei, bought my new one at $350 from Everfit. I also got usable spare one (bought and used a 2nd hand one which came from a springer while fitting the lowering kit onto my new one). $120 with installation but must come to my place when I'm free...Friday night NOT free...
