If u use airhorn confirm will fail inspection. Electric horn will pass inspection. If u let bike shop do the inspection for you might have higher chance of passing.

An air horn has a separate compressor. It has a piece of tubing between the compressor and horn, and it is air blowing through the horn, like a trumpet, which makes the noise.

An electric horn uses a solenoid to vibrate a sounding surface, usually a thin membrane.

Air horns are not legal in SG because they can theoretically make a much louder noise than an electric horn. But from what I've seen, both air horns and good electrics produce about the same dB, so you should get as much noise as you need from an electric.

My bike is due for road tax and inspection but my bike is equip with air horn? Will my inspection failed cos of air horn?

How come you say yours is an air horn where you don't even know what is air horn ?

Anyway, air horn is definitely not legal for bikes and cars. They are for ships and those heavy vehicles. If you are having those stebel magnum horn, then you should be safe. I have previously installed onto my past few bikes and "soon soon" passed the inspections. :cheeky:

Does tt mean tt the inspection centre had blacklisted mi & the nxt time i going for inspection i wun b able to pass unless i remove headlight switch.

Aniwae i dun feel lk removing my swithc cos i find it a hassle to remove during inspection then put on after tt.

where did u position the headlight switch currently?

i guess u juz need to position it at a more hidden location to make it easier to overlook.

By right....ops by law.....headlights are to be turned on 24hrs when the bike is on the road for safety purposes. By putting that switch, you have illegally mod your bike.

Juz like d0n^ says...keep it well hidden...'Legal' stuff cannot let other see one. If kena TP, jialat, maybe inspection then summon. You may wanna re-do your wiring or juz take the switch out.

Huh, then old bikes got switch de mah. Also must remove? But I've just left the headlights on everytime though, never switched it to off after I kena TP once. That once.

By the way, that time I clear inspection with the headlight switch still there, no letter nor anything, never even check my horn/signal.

the rule is that if bike originally dun have switch for headlights then cannot add switch for it... so, those stock also have switch wan are OK, but required to keep headlights on all the time when riding...

i also managed to clear my inspection wif the headlight switch the 1st time. But i was not so lucky the 2nd time.

I tink end of the dae, it's up to the inspector mood. He he happi , he can simply pass u even if your bike gt mani illegal mods. But if last nite, his wife nv giv him, then he bad mood, your bike can be failed for mani tinks.

Hi fellow bros, does anyone know if Stebel TM80/2 Magnum 12V horns are legal to be used on the roads? Will it pass LTA's inspection? Thanks in advance. :)
