Its no safe to attach it to our wrist becasue when accident happens... we fly off our bikes.. so if you have anything attach to the bike means either it breaks and we fly or we go down with the bike.

 

which one will you choose?

 

for me i choose to fly off and let my bike go.

of cause it won't hold when you just put it off. what i mean was if it get tangled to the bike it may cause some other injurys

This plastic coil thing will probably snap off. Can always buy a spare one and try.

i have posted a diy before that i think is a good solution too. i have to go dig it out. basically is use the retractable clip string and tie to the cash card. the card can punch a hole to tie it.

Even in car cash-cash not safe, the thief will break the window or door lock to get the cash card.

 

So the best solution is not to leave the cash-card in the IU, and make sure the thief can see that the IU is empty.

 

Use what already been suggested, punch a hole in the card with a paper hole-punch, then attach it to your bike keys with some suitable cord.

 

I wouln't cut the card to a different shape, cos it needs the width and length to make sure the contacts in the IU connect properly with the chip on the card.

 

Do not punch a hole in the EASILINK card for the BUS/MRT. They have an antenna laid out inside the card, and if you damage the antenna, then the card may not work. The chip in the EASILINK card gets it power from the antenna, and if that is damaged, then the chip cannot work, and you will lose all your $$$ on the card.

I don't know about you, but if my bike gets stolen the cashcard would be the absolute least of my worries

The newer Cashcards also have contactless payment capability, so I assume there is some sort of antenna laid out in the card too. Just be careful where you punch the hole, don't kena the antenna!

Can always superglue a looped thread to the cashcard, then don't risk spoil the antenna if you punch a hole

Would like to share my idea of a simple ERP cashcard reminder. I got this idea from reading some of the suggestions in this forum.

 

This is my bunch of bike keys:

Notice the plastic coil thing that has a hook at one end.

 

Keys in bike, no cashcard:

The good thing about this plastic coil is you can hook it to your keyring and it won't scratch your bike. It's also not so bulky.

 

Cashcard in, hook to remember:

If you have inserted a cashcard in your ERP unit, hook the plastic coil to the ERP unit as shown.

 

You will always be reminded of your cashcard because your keys are connected to the ERP unit unless you unhook the plastic coil from the ERP unit to remove your cashcard. Of course, this will not work if you forget your bike keys

 

The plastic coil is extendable so it should work for ERP units that are located far from your bike ignition switch. Anyway, the coil is quite cheap, less than $2 from your neighbourhood hardware store.

 

You can also use cloth keyfobs that are long enough, or even a simple piece of string, and use the ERP cover to "kiap" (hold it in place) whenever you put a cashcard into your ERP unit.

i did a cash card reminder alarm in poly.. But fail to mount into the IU..

 

what i did :

 

by using some AND + NOT gates = 2 IC

 

i designed a circuit board and test it out in school. everything seems ok untill it comes to mounting it on my IU....

 

Sob Sob.... failure project..

 

hense change to design a alarm lock to lock the diskbrake

yes thats how it's done.. mine project is more or less like yours.. But fitting in the IU is a problem..

so what IC are you doing for your project? cant be just 3 components right.

Oh, i won't be using any IC at all.

 

its actually simple wiring.

 

The horn will be connected to the battery, with the switch and the ignition keyhole.

 

When the ignition keyhole is off and the switch pressed on, it will close the circuit.

 

When the ignition keyhole is on, though the switch is pressed on, it will be an open circuit. Thus won't horn.

 

But i have to try it out.

 

Why is it hard to fit into the IU unit? There's actually a very small switch at SLS.. can find de. Once i fit it, i will infd the outcome k.

I always insert my EZLINK in to my IU unit so that i can use my cashcard for some parking place that require cashcard insert into the machine

So i don't worry about forgetting to place and remove my EZLINK from the IU unit

Amazing ! may i ask, what's the logic that the IU works under yr seat, including the human shielding from yrself?

 

if it works 90% of the time, we might as well "safe keep" them under an enlosure liked box or saddle bag. for the 10%, we might boost the signal with higher voltage. just my thoughts.

Inside the IU have voltage regulator. So that keep voltage inside IU constant, including the voltage to the part that transmits and receives the radio signals.

 

If you make voltage outside the IU higher, then you make the regulator inside IU work harder and it become hot as a result. And if you put too much voltage into the IU, then a magic puff of black smake will come from the IU.

You can also install your IU inside your scooter "fairing". However bear in mind thieves also know that so they may just dismantle your fairing just to get to your cashcard.

 

Also have to remember to top up cashcard regularly.
