Hi All,

My recent encounter that I would like all to know. Please check your tyres regularly even if it's BRAND NEW.

Tuesday 29 Jan 2008, cruising at 90km/hr. On Malaysia North Sounth Highway. My rear tyre produce some noise. It's BRAND NEW!! I had less then 600km on it. Compare to average 12,000km per tyre.

I stopped & check. To my horror, right at the center where traction suppose to be maximum "DEVELOPED OVER TEN DEEP CRACKS". All crack are at tyre lines at center. Deep cracks ones can see re-enforcement inside.

I am forced to let it cool & ride on with deep fear at not more then 50km/hr to change tyre.

I took pics & videos of the fault. Am not going to name the brand of tyre as this is definately a very very rare case, manufacturer's fault or it's VERY OLD TYRE. Namely it will hurt their future business & I am sure manufacterer will definately improves on it. If there is enquiry by law I will produce the Pics & Video I took.

Motor-tiam who change the faulty tyre for me was also shock to see this & screw the supplier. I got my Money Back. He says never seen this before.

I am riding GTS200. It's the rear tyre at fault. Faulty tyre was bought in Malaysia. Cost me RM85.

Check the mfg date..

your tire shelf life may have expired, maybe thats why the hardened tyre cracked

Sava tyres were ok.. Can say it doesnt grip much on wet roads.. Wear n tear?? I changed my front tyre after 2 years or so.. Rear tyre bout 10 months only.. But Sava will surely lose out if its to be compared to Michelin or Pilot tyres..

Posted

Point of View i using sava tyre for my gmax, on hot or normal weather tyre has good grip but during raining weather i give it 0/10 almost skidded on the way back home at woodlands new town exit and yes like what Z3us say about corner is true i regret recommending a good friend this tyre.

so far i would not recommend anyone to use the tyre.

michelin is not bad. Metzeler is better. SAVA is the best according to my personal usage opinion. there is a 2 stroke lurking around with the Sporty 3+ set bought over from SPY. Maybe he can give more comments if he is in this forum.

Among the 3 brands mentioned above, SAVA is the only tire that pulls me into a corner. the profile is the sharpest for cornering and the bast part, the compound is still soft and grips like mad after a year!

Michelin usually hardens after about 6 months.

it will be popular if u can get the correct sizes for the sava sporty 3+ for the current RSTs...

if can get the race compounds even better..

I used to use the race soft for the MC29 and the MC29 sporty 3+ for my 13" rear..

vxr05 n older hav both 12" rims which using both the race soft MC29 for track will be wonderful but the rear will use up too fast (which is normal)

vxr06 n newer no sizes as yet..thus it depends who will be the 1 who brings it in 1st..

I very much believe those trackies wif runner shld have hear enuff reviews on the MC29 or perhaps had tired it out liao
