if UEFA really didnt want liverpool to re-enter the competition...do you think liverpool can just throw their name into the draw bowl & let their names be drawn?

i believe it is every teams' right to defend the trophy they have won.

yes...i am a liverpool supporter since i was 9. at that time..there were no live telecasts of matches...no elaborate articles on the english league....just a small article in the Straits Times.

it is then i saw a team called liverpool wearing a "Candy" jersey...found it quite cute...so i managed to find out that their club name is Liverpool...i stuck with them since.

Unfortunately...that was the start of their decline....but nevertheless i stuck with them...right till now...when im 25.

never have i supported another english club. in fact...liverpool is my favourite soccer team. when they played Milan (which i have supported since i was 14) last year in the final...that was the 1st time i hoped Milan lost! yes...lose to my 1st love...Liverpool FC.

Arsenal needs a few years for their youngsters to come of age...

Man Utd's players has come to age...over the age in fact...

Chelsea....no need to say more...

Now its Liverpool's turn to challenge chelsea....the sudden powerhouse out of nowhere to challenge the original big 5 of liverpool, spurs, man utd, everton & arsenal...

Don't mess with old farts. Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

Bullshit and brilliance only come with age and experience.

wah u write so long. im not dos kinda person who wanna read n type so long leh.

if UEFA wants the champion to defend their title, they would hv a system in place even before the competition first started. not in 2005 then they start a new one. basically, the champion has to prove their worth to be in the next season's competition by performing well in their domestic league. if they are 5th or lower, then they are not champions' material. and dont deserve a place in the competition as such. anyway, by having a big-name team like Lpool will generate more revenue for UEFA.

UEFA should take most of the blame for having an improper system. they should have decided if C.League champions should get an automatic spot for next season.

rgdg Arsenal too young, MU too old etc, we can deduce this after this season ends i guess. if Arsenal/Chelsea/Lpool dont win the C.League, then there's nothing to compare. old MU is 2nd in the league anyway rite now. but all that may change. Lpool may win it in May. saying this will make the Lpool fans happy im sure.

i tink the powerhse in EPL will always be Lpool/MU/Arsenal. by winning 1 season of EPL, Chelsea hasnt prove much. i dont tink we should include Spurs.. coz if we do so, we might need to include Nott Forest too. so lets talk about current powerhses only.

yah to u perhaps its the right thing.

if im a MU fan and MU came in fifth, i wdnt advocate pleading to be re-entered into the C.League. i feel that the rules that have been in force for years should be adhered to. but now Lpool has bent it.

im sure u dont want Nguyen not to be hanged rite?

Liverpool is not the first team to bend it if i did not remember wrongly. .

few years back there's another club who is in the same situation as Liverpool.

I forgot which club liao...maybe i remember wrongly.

Anyone has any idea which team did the same thing too?

Same here brother. . sumhow i got attracted to its club name maybe and that's y i started to support.

I tink i started to support them at the age of 9 - 10 where Robbie Fowler is my fav. player. .with Stan Collymore and Jason McAteer , Phil Babb , John Barnes , Redknapp and Steve McManaman.

Steve McManaman is famous for his "Don Jio"

While Stan Collymore can bend like Beckham, his ball curves like hell.

it was Real Madrid. But it was the Spanish FA that intervened, allowing Real to porgress at the expense of the lowest qualifer from La Liga.

Abt qualifications, to be fair, LFC has to play 6 matches to determine qualification.

Compared to next rivals Arsenal and Everton (who couldn't even get passed qualifications in just 2 matches), we had to fight for our right to defend our UCL title. Not to mention we now have more games than any other team in EPL for all competitions, it says a lot for our team discipline, commitment and desire.

i dont know how old are you...

but the TRADITIONAL power houses in english soccer...known as the BIG FIVE is Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton & Tottenham Hotspurs...

i didnt come up with this....i read it from books & newspapers...

West Ham and Forest were knocking on the doors of these 5....but didnt make it...
