Any suggestions on where I can get Side boxes or side pods for my TA200 this weekend?

I have decided to a bit of tour to Malaysia over Christmas and want to get sidepods beforehand so I can get some extra space.

I'll need to purchase and have them fitted this Saturday or Sunday if possible. Can also fit myself if that is easier. I want to get the biggest sidepods I can

Any advice would be appreciated

You can try getting the Pod @ 219 Lavander/ Regina (Near Ah Boy)/ LAB.

Please get a chinese/ malay/ indian friend along to neg the price.

Do not get any thing Bigger then Keyless side box for your Phantom (If you have rear Box), Its to heavy & will affect your bike agility & Speed.

Thanks all for the advice. I have had a couple of people suggest I take a local with me to negotiate so I'll do that (I have a Harley riding friend at work who has already offered to negotiate for me)

I am not too worried about the effect on speed, I would be more concerned about having enough space for a few days worth of gear and ultimatly I would like to pack some camping gear in so I need enought room for that too

Steve, bare in mind that the weight would drag you down.

Yr front handling will become light, hence affects è handling & turning.

Width dimensions will also be affected as side pods/boxes will increase yr width clearance.

All boxes wont seep in water unless there's a manufacturing fault, or a self-inflicted hole to è box.

Here's some popular rear boxes that can be used as a sidebox:

E450

E33

Kappa K42

Warning, the bigger the side boxes are, the less efficient your TA is gona be.

No it wont. As long as its shut thight, the grooves will direct the water line towards the floor rather than seeping in, unless of course its opened up in the rain..... :sian:

The only thing is, the left side of the bike where its most lean on as when onparking stand, that side's box will tend to seep in water thru the key-lock mechanism, not frm direct box opening lining.

Yeah. I use the K42 as a side box and the left box will have water inside if I park it in the rain, cos the bike leans left, and hence exposes the box's opening to the rain. So I keep those water-durable stuff in the left box and dry stuff in the right. When riding during heavy rains also will allow some water to seep in.

If a lot of storage is needed for long touring then can get 2 sideboxes and one tank-bag for improved stability. If got pillion then a top-box will provide some comfort, to serve as a backrest, but may make the bike heavy and unstale at high winds and speed.

Oh yah, you may also want to consider these. Upping your headlights to those S4 ones to shine your way better on those dark, uneven, road-kill strewn roads. Putting reflective stickers on your sideboxes, or choosing bright coloured boxes, to improve your night profile to other road users. Installing a wind shield can protect you from flying road debris and give improved riding comfort.

I searched the topics and was surprised to find a pair of Givi E21 at ard $200. Quite exp to me.

Anyone of you went to ah boy or any other shop recently to install sideboxes? Got any sideboxes that's ard $120 or less for 1 pair?
