For those of you who likes scary movies, watch Inner Senses.

 

Its one of the last movies by late Leslie Cheung, it was rumoured that he committed sucide after filming the show cos he was bothered by spirits....

 

Anyway, the story is as follow:

 

Yan always sees dead people. Jim (Leslie), a psychologist, thinks its all in her mind brought on by her loneliness and unplesant memories from past relationships. He devotes his time to curing her and falls in love with her as she is freed from her visions.... But soon, he becomes bothered by his own past. His highschool girlfriend had committed sucide when Jim tried to break up with her 20 years ago.... He now has to face with to her ghost.

 

Overall, i remember this being a very disturbing show. I was quite freaked out by it.... So for ghost lovers, this is an interesting one.

Yah.... Chinese /cantonese movies....

 

The chinese newspaper say he is pestered by other beings.... dunno lah...

i love to watch movies too, and collect all those good ones, but it's rather difficult for me to review them, together with characters and story line..

 

anyway, my frnd told me customs allow us to bring dvds from jb ? so i did go once and bought 5 dvd. custom officer nevr bother to ask.

 

latest of what i got, "the freedom writers" are really good.

Before there were DVDs, I brought in 3 VCDs. One animation movie and two other English movies (not porn). The young customs officer chong kong my VCDs and issued me with a receipt stating that the discs will be sent to censorship board and I have to collect the discs and pay for the censorship work done on them. NBZ, I bought the discs way cheaper than the price of the censorship charges. Naturally, I did not collect the discs back...

In a country torn by civil war, another terror has emerged in the form of a man-hungry crocodile which the locals named Gustave. An animal news journalist was sent to cover the story and if possible, to capture the crocodile with the help of a crocodile hunter. Little did he and his team know that not only do they have to contend with a monstrously huge reptile but also the game of politics involving mercenaries that will ultimately put their lives in imminent danger.

 

When I first watched this movie, my expectations are not high at all. To me, it is just another movie on an enormous crocodile. So what? I've watched 'Lake Placid' and 'Krocodylus' and both failed to impress. However as I watched this movie, my initial mindset was proven wrong. This movie is GOOD in my opinion.

 

The lead actor is none other than Dominic Purcell, better known as Michael Scofield's brother, Lincoln Burrows, in the TV series 'Prison Break'. He looks like he just got off the set of 'Prison Break' and straightaway, made this movie as he looks exactly like how he looks in the TV series. Orlando Jones plays cameraman, Steven Johnson. He is very funny with his one liners and his warped views on the situations he is in. A perfect example was when he was in a state of panic and grumbling to himself saying that he doesn't understand why black people hates slavery. Slavery brought them out of Africa and they should be grateful because he hates Africa.

 

Even the crocodile manages to add suspense and heart thumping action, especially when it chases it's victim. I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to crocodiles but boy, can that HUGE crocodile run. There are graphic scenes of blood and gore as the crocodile mauls it's victims.

 

All in all, personally I feel that 'Primeval' is a decent crocodile suspense movie. Definitely way better than 'Lake Placid' or 'Krocodylus'. A movie worth watching if you are into reptiles, civil wars and politics all rolled into one...

I've read the book when I was a kid and I loved the story. I have not watched the movie version yet but my sis-in-law did and she said that it was good. She cried towards the end of the movie...

What happens when you are stuck in limbo, knowing that you are not exactly dead but will be should your body expires? What happens when the only living person who can sense and feel you is in fact the person who accidentally 'killed' you in the first place in a fit of anger? Well, if you want to know the answers to these questions, then watch 'The Invisible'.

 

Nick Powell is a kid who keeps much to himself except for one good guy pal, due to the death of his father and the overbearing, domineering control of his mother. When his path crossed with the female gangster of his school, Annie, his snide remarks manage to freak her over to a murderous rage after she thought he blabbed to the police on a crime that she committed.

 

There is a scene in this movie that kind of reminds me of the movie, 'Ghost'. The initial setting reeks of teenage angst but as the story develops, it got rather interesting. I find it ironic that as a 'ghost', Nick can only communicate with Annie. As for Annie, helping Nick find his body is the only way for her to redeem herself. Apparently after she dumped his body in a manhole, his body was removed elsewhere.

 

The soundtracks found in this movie are very unfamiliar to me. The songs must be from some unknown Indie bands. The movie moves along at a steady pace without any unexpected twists towards the end. A rather decent, watchable movie that thrives on the storyline rather than big special effects. Click on the link of the movie title if you want to watch it as well. The trailer is available here.
