The Spiderman 3 DVD is already out. I saw the DVD on sale at the videoshop on the first floor of City Plaza yesterday. You know the DVD version where on the cover, everything is written in Chinese. The price was not stated on the DVD cover though. Parallel import one, I think... :confused:

Yes, it is the original DVD. Got the Singapore censorship sticker some more... :thumb:

Just a word of caution though. Even though the Chinese words on English DVDs have the Singapore censorship stickers, every function in the disc are also in Chinese.

 

Basically, the movies from these cheap original Chinese coded DVDs are just the movies in English with Chinese subtitles. There are no other subtitiles and the extra functionalities that can be found in the expensive DVDs are non-existent in these ones. How do I know? I just bought 'Beetlejuice' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' that cost $8 each from Giant Marine Parade... :sian:

If you just want to see the movies and don't care about the extra goodies that are found in the expensive English DVDs, then I guess the Chinese cheap ones are worth the buy... :p

I've just bought an AKIRA DVD recorder with 160 HDD for $398. Cool gadget for recording TV programs and transferring those on DVDs. No more hassles of finding, inserting and ejecting videotapes from my old VCR... :cheeky:

I too am unfamiliar with the HDTV with boxset concept. My plasma TV is HD Ready but I have not subscribed or bought that HD boxset yet. :p

That day I went to Best Denki and watched a movie played on a blu-ray disc player and a 50 inch Full HD LCD TV. The quality of the picture is crystal clear and the sound system is just :thumb: :cheer: :lovestruck:
