About 5days... booked on 3 March and probably collect on the 8 March 08. What is it about endlessloop blog on his STX from Looi's Motor? Just managed to read on one in his thread that he got a 2nd hand from Looi's and price / Bike is good. Any bad comments? Keen to know as I have almost lost touch on biking since I drove.... thanks

hey, my 2 cents worth. the honda STX1300 is a cool bike. I got mine in Jan 2008 from Looi's at 27K. Silver Grey. Had a bit of difficulty in the beginning adjusting to the height and weight, but now riding is a breeze. If you have never handled a big bike before, u really have to get use to the weight. Endlessloop is a good source of advice and expert opinion on the ST. Gd luck with ur bike.

S-Line, you need to read endlesses' blog at http://loudexhaust.blogspot.com/

Endless, hope you don't mind I do some promo for you. Very readable. CBkooky, I thought MT just moved to motowrold from Looi's. very confused. I think I'll stick to Gopa.

Hi Ozmeister,

No problem. My blog is for motorcycling enthusiats. By all means share and contribute on it. :)

Hi S-Line,

Yes, my grey STX is easier to keep clean than black or white. But I might be the only person in singapore that pays the carpark washer, who normally washes car, to wash my bike. :)

Downside of STX?

- Pushing the bike manually needs a bit of time to get used to.

- Because of it's huge 29 litre tank, get used to bad jokes when paying for petrol to the cashiers at the petrol station, almost every time:

"Har?! Is bike not car ah?!"

:sian:

But really, despite being 1,300cc, my STX averages between 17-18km/litre in singapore riding. No different from the 600-1000cc hornets, fazers and sportsbikes.

Good things of STX?

- I said a lot of good thing about the STX on my blog liao because it just keep impressing me. But I'll say again: yes, it is a great tourer but this is already well known. But it is also damn fast and a great agile handler. Good enough for you to chase even the latest litre suzukis and fireblades on public roads, if you really want to.

Hi endlessloop,

Thanks you for replying to my qureries as Im a "sotong" about ST despite eyeing the ST1100 more than a decade ago and finally got myself the STX.

At least reading your blog and forum I more prepared what to expect tomorrow wheeling out my STX.

Do you have any idea about ST1300PA from USA that coolone mentioned about? All I know is a police bike.... maybe you can give us some insight?

Thanks Bro

this is probably off topic...but can anyone tell me if these conspicuity lamps are legal?

http://www.cyclegadgets.com/images/PIAA-1100X-ST1300.jpg

its legal if covered but i guess these kind of lamps PIAA do not have covers coming with them. I had my previous St1100 almost installed with a foglight(bought the set) but changed my mind.THese are good for NSH riding at night. In SG i guess its more of luck if uncle SAM see you... Anyway at the moment my ST1300 headlight is bright enough.

Agree with kmax, sometime the white stx looks very nice.......but on closer inpection, it is pure or plain white, if honda uses the premium white pearl/metalic white similar to lexus cars, it may be nicer.....think the new 08 hayabusa has this colour.

btw S-line congrats.....collected your ride today?

Thanks All Brothers for your comments and suggestion

Collected my dark color STX on Friday and clocked about 170km so far. First ride out from the shop is a experience and get pretty used to it after the first 30km from Kaki Bukit to Bukit Timah plus some rounding of course. keke.

What surprises me the STX is really agile given the full weight (full tank) approx 300kg. The bike just like to take corners and my pillion told me I corner more stable than my last super 4 Spec 3. (scratching my head thou) pardon me ok Im not trying to impress anyone just my own experiences.

Maybe other STX riders can comments???

No problem putting in mainstand and only problem now is backing the bike into parking lot when there is a slight gradient. I end up getting down and push it and really takes a while to push the "beast" afraid if will tip-over the other side lah. keke. Im only 5' 7" so my both feet is not planted flat slight tip-toed.

Anyway, the ride is great and feel very "SAFE" on the road...... that is about all for now.... and will come back if encounter any problems while riding...

RIDE SAFE,

Congrats on your new ride man!

Guess you will be washing and polishing every weekend. :)

Weight is not a factor when you are riding, but when reversing/ parking, sometimes it a real *****.

My bike is liteweight compared to yours, when fully loaded ard 220-230kg.

It's really energy sapping when trying to reverse intot he lot. When got slight slope, amost hopeless. Better come down and push back, cos if the floow is wet, might just slip when u r tip toeing.
