The oil around the plug when you took it out is ok lah. Most mech don't dare to tighten the plug more than they should an at times can be very loose..that's just seepage from use.

There are many product from many otehr brands that is much like X-1R or tat least they claim to be.."friction eliminator"..the problem is that "particles" content agent are use..like PTFE and Molyslip stuff...which causes slip clutch problems. Most bikes can't use that because our clutch plates are soak in the eo.

I recommend you use X-1R with my own blended eo lah, otherwise its a waste cos mine can last till 7k to 15k till next mileage change. If you can find..X-1R used to be retailed for $49..mine is lot cheaper and the one I have is from USA direct not the repacked evrsion (dull green box).

PM for any further needs.

wa ...ok la ah pek. I just change my eo only. will find ya when my next eo change comes.:)

ahpek what is g25?

As your question is not specific, G25 can be a lot of other things. But from what I guess and and if its the same item you are referring to, its a fuel injector cum valve cleaner to be premix with the fuel.

hi guys, i got a qn here, might be abit off topic

I bought my spec 1 abt 6 months already and all along i saw small leak of oil around my casket and engine area everytime i wash my bike. i thought its normal, but when i ask a bike shop uncle, he told me its casket leakage.

Does the quality of eo or too much of eo cause casket to leak??

Anyone know how much does it cost to change the whole set of casket?

Hi bro first of all its gasket, not casket. Its ok we all learn new word everyday..

Gasket is something inbetween two things to prevent leakage, in ur case the engine oil. We have gasket for endcans, to prevent air from sipping thru..

Not sure how much to replace, the pros will answer.. Hope u understand my simple explaination.

Cheers!

like wat firduaz said...

Gasket are mend to help on leakage, Gasket seldom or will nv spoil unless u split open the 2 part that compress it.

correct me if I'm wrong...

the bike is about 10 yrs old. i think things like that will break down someday. i thought overflow of eo might cause it to leak.

when theres a leak, maybe the mechanic took out the block, never clean properly the surface where the two metal part contact where there is still dirt, which causes leakage

maybe the block did not align peoperly, mechanic did not lubicate the contact area, mechanic did not do a good job tightening, tighten to hard or never even tighten hard enough can even cause leakage.

u never know when the mechanic found out theres a need to remove the engine block after installing back the block, the mechanic uses the same gasket (save $$$$ and time) can cause leak after taking out the block we never know....

No...not for bikes. For car is ok but not for bikes. "MoS2" is Molybdenum Disulfide. There are tens of "friction elimnation" product these like out there...you used it..your bike be in trouble..anything with MoS2 and Teflon (PTFE)..don't use it.

If there is anything else safe and better that works for bikes in this area of liquid engineering enhancement and when its available..you sure to hear from me..much like "CLS". In the meantime..use the best there is and that's X-1R.

Hello,

You may find Molyslip Automatic Transmission Supplement helpful. Ah Pek is right, you never want to add molybdenum disulfide to a motorcycle with a wet clutch system (where the clutch is bathed in the engine oil) because the the molybdenum would remove the friction necessary for the clutch to engage. However an Automatic Transmission is similar to a wet clutch system in that it requires friction to produce motion. I actually work for Molyslip in Canada and just stumbled across this forum. Molyslip Automatic Transmission Supplement can help improve the film strength of your oil and reduce heat and slippage. Here's a link to a testimonial we recieved from an individual using ATS in his motorcycle: 2003 V-Max with ATS.

If the leak is between your engine block..likely is a blown gasket. It can be caused by too much of eo or a bad gasket.

As far as eo is concern, viscosity is important as such that if its too thick and eo level is filled higher than neccessary or the old eo not fully drained..your bike be under power at higher rpm..also, oil pressure be so high that it can cause "blown gasket". Normally there is a "blow by" tube taht eo vapour will be channel thru to the airbox where there is a rain hole for this excess eo.

Quality wise..different age of bike uses different grades. If your bike is old and you uses the best fully sync at 10/30W (expensive grade beside 0/30W being the most expensive)..your engine is gonna get screwed too.

If its engine block gasket..should cost around $35 or so but its the workmanship and label that is costly...say may be $35-$50 :sian:

Hey guys,

Just changed ahpek's blend of EO today, one word: shiok. I have never felt my engine run so smooth, and even dragging till rpm 10+ on first gear also felt smooth. There are no weird sounds when riding, cause last time got like sand sound. Understand from ahpek himself, the next change is 10k -15k km later. So, its like reducing the number of oil changes!

Oh, on a side note, ahpek's really friendly and knowledgeable, so new riders like me dont be shy, can ask him qns 1. Anyway ahpek, my belly pan I think you put too low, now almost every hump will graze, and I cannot corner as well! Haha, have to adjust back higher again.

There should be a label sticker near the inspection glass for oil level. EO level rquirement differ from various model of S4..example:

Non Vtec : 2.8 itres with oil filter change..3 litres with oil filter change.

Vetec : 3 litres without and 3.2 with but if follow the glass level indicator with the bike straighten up, its 3.2 without oil filter change and 3.5 litres wif oil filter changed. :sian:

Revo should fall into the Vtec category..again like I said earlier..use the glass window level check to be more accurate and I won't be surprise you need 3.2L to 3.5L.o_O
