Congrats!Datsunking got a gd pipe n brake disc.

 

I feel whenever i go over a hump, my main stand will rebounce causing a sound.Is it my rear suspension weak?

Either ur rubber gone liao or the spring lose... Change either 1 of them...

It's beginning to be harder to downshift my gear. I have ruled out the engine oil aas I just change 1000km ago. Could it be due to the clutch cables? ANy ideas? Could someone give me some pointers?

obviously something to do with the clutch/gears systems. (sorry if it seems i'm pointing out the obvious).

 

i guess you've already done the basics of changing oil, so next would be to adjust the cable and see if it's better. if not maybe you'll want to get it opened up and looked at?

 

i did a clutch job on my (well, formerly my) bike, at about $300. the clutch housing stuff was badly worn, and we did it up using used but good cond. parts.

 

that's all the info i have.. good luck

 

p.s. actually gary would be the man to ask about these things. he tried to give me a brief troubleshoot for my problem but i couldn't really understand it all, so i had it done at a shop. maybe he could help you? gary?

So we can narrow it at the clutch. However what will make the gears hard to downshift? Any ideas? I thought adjusting the clutch cable is to find the biting point for oneself. Correct me if I am wrong. If so, how should I adjust it to then?

i've really no idea, but i think it could be like this.

 

clutch cables disengage the clutch plates from... something... well from the engine? so your clutch cable adjustment might affect ability to disengage. (so could the springs/pushrod?) then i guess when you can't disengage properly... it will be hard to shift because the two things are meshed together?

 

but i dont think it's a cable thing. have no idea how the clutch mechanism works, so i won't say any more on this. hope you manage to solve it soon.

Anyone wans my 6 weeks only clutch cable, clutch spring n clutch housing? Got it all abt 200++

xiaowang if your clutch assembly is bad you could buy katakiller's maybe. it seems like a good buy.

I would like to get some stuff from kata too however it's CNY soon. So I have blown quite a bit of cash already. Nearing S$1500. Getting broke. See how loh. Btw kata, where will u scrap your bike officially? There are a few items i like to get from u but i gotta wait for the next paycheck at least.

$200 plus labour. Or $150 take n go. Clutch housing, clutch spring n clutch cable. Usedl only 6 weeks old.

Not sure if you understand but I will try my best to help.

 

First

Check and adjust the clutch free play according to the manual.

 

Next check and adjust the clutch push rod first, its on the left side of your bike, near the front sprocket cover, its behind the small little cover. Adjust according to the manual

 

If that still doesn;t help, it may be your clutch metal plate warp, friction plate worn or clutch sleeve hub worn. Guan Hoe suggest to change everything.
