Wow....

It just prove how reliable this bike is...

I got my bandit for three yrs and it has not given me any major problem...

That's why i still got myself a new bandit.

My last four bike were all suzuki...

I rode to Cherating, Kuantan, Pahang recently on my bandit. The bike was wonderful and extremely adaptable except for some crappy parts of the highway. However the org suspensions were lacking and can be bettered. Handling was nimble. Overall, I am pleased with my bandit. I rode it hard, I would say. 480 kms on the first day followed by 400 kms on the second day. However now I know where the fun places to ride, when it comes to nice smooth stretchs for dragging the gears and nice and safe & smooth cornering. I did a couples of 'S' corners at 120km/h, heart was in my mouth but I knew the bandit was capable and I had recce the road for any road damage. In the end, it was extremely satisfying for me.

Hope that you guys would feel proud of your bandits and keep them longer.

the last time i did something like that was on my old bandit in november..rode up to kuantan via highway 3, back via highway12, 1, and nsh.. 750 in 13hrs incl breaks..most of time no problems..just that yea, lack of windshield can be tiring in the long run, esp on nsh..

D longest I ever did on my bandit is 14hrs continuous from SGP to Phuket and a total of 4000++km on 3 days... hee hee. No problem at all....

Bandit is definatly a gd bike la jus tht in sg, ppl perfer to have newer things n dun take care of aged vehicles n classify them as problematic.

guys this must have been asked many times before. but i cant find the thread tho after searchign it. ho wmany diff version bandit 400 are there and wats are the diff bet them? cheers

P model n VVC model or know as Bandit V or Bandit VV

so there are 2 models.

VV is the newer one...frm late FN plate to FR some say FS also got la.

difference is one is a S4 ver S Bandit V is like S4 vtech.

however the P model frm FK plate to FN i think got higher horse power.

VV has been claimed to have higher top speed.

both are monoshocks n the V model has a fuel gague n the handlebar is more like a sportsbike eg. clip handle bar while the p model is like typical S4 type of handlebar.

Overall its a tough bike won't regret this powerful torquey bike yet with low mainteinece.

Hi,

It is a gsf 650. 2005 model.

FC so far is aroun 19km/l - 21 km/l. Still running in and my bike is riding two-up daily.

It is a heavy bike but feel light at the bar and is quite stable when moving and cornering. (Not those knee dragging cornering lah )

Almost zero vibration is felt at the bars and totally zero vibration at the foot pegs.

Troque comes in very early in the rpm range and is smooth throughout the rpm (so far only rev till 9k as running in).

The bike makes me a bit lazy as i dont need to down shift so often, can use last gear for 100+ and roll-on from 50+kmh.

It take 2 person with pretty much power to spare.

Mirrors are very nicely placed infront and can see vehicle behind clearly.

Screen is a bit low and if you are a tall rider more wind will hit from chest level about. Ordered my ermax touring screen and still waiting for it to come.

As for heat, it is not hotter than bandit 400 which is water-cooled. The 650 have one of the biggest oil cooler around so heat is not really an issue, also because the compression is 10.5:1. It is definately cooler than the GSXR750 i used to have.

Tires is 120 front and 160 rear, so tire maintanence is not very expensive. Road tax at $216. Insurance group is same as the bandit 400, so not expensive for a class 2 bike.

Engine oil are 3.3L. Petrol only need RON 90. I normally use RON 95. 20L tank and so far max i went before filling up was 360km.

As for daily used, I would think it is quite okay. It is like a super 4 but with a 650cc engine. If FC is main consideration than it wont really fit the bill.

Parts for this bike is also quite cheap as most of it is similar to the old bandit and GSXR600.

The bike was priced at 13.8k OTR. So the price is close to a brand new S4.

Other thing that i consider was that it is not a popular bike, so it wont be over priced and stuff wont get stolen so frequently.

Bro,

You should have the seat re-skinned with new leather. It makes a lot of different.

The bandit original skin can last very very long. So it will dry up and harden. Mine was changed after 12 yrs since the bike was produced and it does wonders...

ya bro u shld redo the cushionning n all la. Due to age the cushsion shld be worn out as long the bike is abt 2-3 yrs old thts all it takes.

The position for the rider is more up right and more comfortable. The seat is bigger and I managed to sit on the meat part of my butt compared to the 400.

As for the pillion, her feedback was the seat are bigger and more comfortable as well...

The panniers was fixed at the shop i got the bike from...

If compare design, i would think fazer would look more modern...

I selling mine n lasted me only 6 weeks b4 my engine failed me 4 mths ago n then scrap it... Consider very new. Have been lying in my storeroom for abt 4mths from nw... Wanted to sell it off, no need to 1 to 1 exchange (rider n pillion seat for P model). Selling at $45.

hmmm.... reskin n re-cushion... likely to be next purchase but i really like

Its a gd buy. Seen his seat cushion b4 his bike got scraped.

Ya, the bandit looks abit dated compare to Fazer but it could be a better bike for everyday use. New FZ has to be worked in order to bring out the power, the power band of bandit is more evenly spread throughout the gears. Read all this from magazine

Old Fazer is also known for better ride than the old one, but new fazer look better

Could GSR take over Bandit or they are different kind of bike all together??

can i ask where you order it from (biketech21?) and how much does it cost? looking for a touring screen for mine, though my guy prefer the double bubble screen from zero gravity.

The suspension would need to some upgrade to make it perfect.

Looking at ohlin rear shock and front spring...

The GSR is totally different to the GSF650. GSR is using a new gsxr 600 engine and it rev high up the band. It is like a GSXR but without fairing and lower production cost. It is mainly for replacement for the old muscle bandit 600.

For me, just want something that is cheap and moderately powerful for two-ups. Dont have to be a real looker, just okay will do...

So far really happy with the performance and comfort...

If it is then i saw you at KKFC before.

I got mine from motoworld. As of now they have promotion for ermax screen.

I prefer the touring screen then the double bubble, cause dont like the bike to look too fierce for a semi-tourer...

The price is around $150-170. Waiting time is one month. Got many colours as well. Getting a light smoke screen...

I like the hydraulic clutch on the bandit 1200...

I deal wif accessory... Zero gravity is 1 of d brand I carry, but no stock up stock for uncommon model. If U wan, I can give u a gd deal. Contact me....

Usually waiting period is abt 1 mth or so....

when free i go down motorworld take a look, I tried ordering oversea but overall cost ard $200 so still looking ard in sg.
