Its just a simple, rectangular tank bag but the brand it nankai.

The size is 40cm x 30cm and can be expanded.

hi,

what kind of bandit i am expecting if private seller selling for 1.5k or slightly less?

Do bandits normally have electrical or mechanical problems? I currently riding a cagiva planet... normally have battery flat or some small niggly problems here and there. but can be fixed one...

its a questioned with no definate ans.

Its a old bike...so it all depends on the wear n tear, the owner how he looks aft his bike. However known this bandit thread for abt a yr now haven't heard of electrical probs frm anyone. Only things might be worn out rear suspension...cone barrings wheel barring...normal wear n tear. For the above mentioned a bike ard a yr old maybe be subject to those...Engine has gd low n mid range torque (usable power) wat for have so much power all aft 6k rpm which rarely comes into use of daily use. For touring it can easily do up to 150. overall its a gd naked bike to have.

Hi everyone, just got myself a BanditV, got a question to ask the gurus down here.

I noticed that the Engine Oil capacity is 2300ml, so I'm in a dilemma.. Should I just change 2 litres of Engine oil or need to top up that extra 300ml to make it 2300ml exactly?

the sad story is 2.3litres and 2.8 with filter change. u can keep the left over for the next oil change.

If u r jus riding locally for transport can try using mineral but change more often like 2000km+ change or semi abt 4000km+.

FOr this bike use only 10-40 or 15-40. anything -50 will be too thick n i tried b4 engine runs hotter for some reason...

for 1.5k, make sure the bandit doesn't have any of those "oh you just need to change this change that" kind of repair coming up. don't mean consumables like tyres or chain/sprockets, but the various bearings, suspension, electrical stuff. it's also cool if the valve clearance has been done regularly (check if owner knows where and how much), and a bonus if carb's been washed/tuned before etc.

CDIs have been known to get damaged, and a replacement is expensive. but they seldom fail. parts might be rarer (not every shop will stock), but KS (suzuki parts dealer) along jalan besar will be able to get almost any part you need.

i would say bandits are very reliable, compared to cagivas (most jap bikes are). the bandit's engine is in a very low state of tune, like the others have said. power is available low-down so you don't have to rev it to get power (for my old bandit there was no obvious powerband, but it ran a little stronger from 6-8k, but gets a bit too vibey above 9-10k; for comparison a gsxr4 gets on song from 9-10k rpm, i think?

thanks to rAjOaNa & boofeng for your help. This coming Thursday I'm going down to do servicing, wonder what's wrong.. The bike seems very choky and lethargic below 4000RPM. Above that, the bike seems to have operate in a higher pitch and it all goes smooth back again...

And, what's the specs for this bike?? what ranges does the "VTEC" mechanism kick in? Thanks.

Hi,

If I am not wrong (don't blame me k). If the bike feels that way under 4k rpm, I think you need to change the spark plugs and/or the plug rubber. Cos it is likely that water went in. It happened to my mine sometime....

And also check if your choke is on or if the choke cable is struck cos that might cause loss of power at low rpm

As for the "vtec", it is kicks in exactly at 8k rpm, you should be able to hear a "tick" sound.

Hope it's helps

(PS: I'm riding a bandit V V 400)

bro jus warm up for 5 mins engine cannot touch alraedy...run for 10-20mins of cos cannot touch la....sounds like u jus upgraded frm 2B issit?

cos tht was something it too learnt when i upgrade to 2A. If u ride through city slow moving traffic n jams bike will definatly be hot highway riding will keep it cool n better consumption.(thts normal for all bike) noise...if u r comparing with a S4....lets be realistic i wld say bandit has a performace engine maybe a detuned one of some sportsbike's model n tht definatly will sound more rough than a S4.

Hello banditos

I need some advice. Recently my rear brakes became koyak. Now there is no bite at all. My only braking for me is the engine braking and front brakes. Scary while cornering. DOn't worry guys, I have stopped using my bike since. However what do youy think is the issue here? Is it the brake pads or something else? Hopefully it's not the callipers. Otherwise S$$$$$$$...

Anyway, I will fix them up soon either at GH or with Kata's shop. Can meet up with him too, Kata I meant. Nice bloke.

Oh yes, anybody wants to change their oil and coolent soon? Rajoana, have you done yours? If not, u wanna do together? It's time for some basic maintenance again.

Thanks banditos

Check this thread out. I am creating a club of bikers for bikers. This is for intercultural intergration. Come on in, fellow bikers.
