Hello banditos

I need some advice. Recently my rear brakes became koyak. Now there is no bite at all. My only braking for me is the engine braking and front brakes. Scary while cornering. DOn't worry guys, I have stopped using my bike since. However what do youy think is the issue here? Is it the brake pads or something else? Hopefully it's not the callipers. Otherwise S$$$$$$$...

Anyway, I will fix them up soon either at GH or with Kata's shop. Can meet up with him too, Kata I meant. Nice bloke.

Oh yes, anybody wants to change their oil and coolent soon? Rajoana, have you done yours? If not, u wanna do together? It's time for some basic maintenance again.

Thanks banditos

probably its jus brakepads....i done my basic servicing last mth already. Mine still got a long way to go b4 change E.O. again.

Hi,

If I am not wrong (don't blame me k). If the bike feels that way under 4k rpm, I think you need to change the spark plugs and/or the plug rubber. Cos it is likely that water went in. It happened to my mine sometime....

And also check if your choke is on or if the choke cable is struck cos that might cause loss of power at low rpm

As for the "vtec", it is kicks in exactly at 8k rpm, you should be able to hear a "tick" sound.

Hope it's helps

(PS: I'm riding a bandit V V 400)

8K rpm then the VTEC kick in?? I thought I can hear the sharp pitch when 4 ~ 5K RPM is reached, then there's a sudden burst of power, and the bike revs smoother.. confirm 8K hah ? sorry, just trying to learn more about this new passion of mine.. :cheeky:

Hi everyone, just went for servicing. after carb wash and tuning, now the bike seems better. Like to ask,

Carb tuning and fixing back of box rack and original handlebar given by ex-owner

Total $145 including carb wash of $65. Total amount of labour fee is about $80.. do you guys think is it expensive?

I'm not sure about how much is the fixing of

back of box rack and original handlebar but

the shop where I got my carb washed and tuned,

they charged me $80.

Don't think too hard about it. You don't need a reason.

JUST RIDE.

Hi, I am quite sure it kicks in at 8k rpm. I heard the sound very clearly and if I am not mistaken I once read somewhere in the manual about it kicking in by 8k rpm.

Anyway, it is not VTEC, cos VTEC is a different technologly.

It is known as variable valve....

I have check the manual,

It say "8000 to 10000" rpm

I see. Thanks. quite hard to hit 8K RPM, either have to drag gear or have to travel at 150~160km/h on 6th gear..

I see. all these prices more or less standard, but I still feel the workmanship of $80 is a bit expensive. I go to M@h m0t0rs at Jln Besar normally. you all have any better shops to recommend for servicing ?

I recommend GH or Planet Motors

Thanks!

I think I'll go to GH the next service date since they are the authorised suzuki spare parts dealer. M@h's really cut throat prices, although no doubt the service is good. :giddy:

I have sold my gsxr400, now riding Piaggio Typhoon 125 to save $$. Cheaper road tax, and better fuel mileage.

Hi.

Saw a couple of bandits on the road. I saw some twin front disc brake, and some single front disk brake. If i m not wrong, some have twin rear shocks, some have single mono shocks. Are they the same bandits from the same range?? too many variation until i blur.

Any guru want to tell a long grandpa story about this?

cheers

twin rear shocks? are those gsx400 impulse (not gsxr 400)? it's quite similar to a bandit.. you might have seen those.

think twin front is bandit V. single front is GSF400P bandit.

just what i think ah, not sure is right too. someone else should still come and tell grandpa story! come come!
