I came in at about midnight.. Had a rear tyre puncture just after the Malaysian toll...

Slowly rode to GP Esso to try & see how big is da hole.. Got lucky cos the Malaysian version of Highway Repair Vehicle drove in, so I managed to get the repair kit to patch up my tyre.

Walked over to the Petronas beside, saw a Fireblade Sister who's CB1000 couldn't be started & she was trying to get it repaired. I dun't know what the fault was; can crank but cannot start. She said she already got the coil changed. Turned on ignition, the meter didn't do a meter check. Check fuse, all still intact. She had to push it with her other 2 pals back all the way to Singapore... Hope she's all right yeah now..

Wah..

sorry to hear about that...

great to know tat everyones safe n fine...

probably if we were still around we wld have definately lend a helping hand...

btw, did u by any chance happened to get e contacts of the sister riding e fireblade or her friends? Maybe u guys n gerls cld come earlier n join us for our weekend meetups...

im sure it wld be a much more pleasant experience....

especially wif more lady riders around...

Dear Alvin,

Thanks for your comments. I wish we have more supportive advertisers as our magazine only thrive on advertisers. Unfortunately Suzuki being one of the biggest distributors is not of the opinion of marketing through advertising. I hope this opinion will change as with increased revenues we can bring and afford better coverages and better articles for our readers. I hope you can help voice out the support of a local bike mag as sadly this is the current state and situation (that local bike shops and distributors mostly do not support advertisements). I would love to feature more bike clubs , superbikes , meeting of clubs etc however we do have a bottom line to keep as well due to the lack in revenue. The good news is we are making headway as our readership is increasing and there are gradually but a bit too slowly people who realise the effectiveness of our magazine. I will try to cover yr event if u can confirm the time and location. I hope u can voice our enthusiast support as we are eager to please and be the best bike mag not only in Singapore but the region eventually. Meanwhile Ride safely and Best Regards.

It looks a beauty with the new color scheme. The hugger is also bigger as like the GP 800cc design... Lets hope it's specs are better... I'm always keen on getting Honda but with the coil being a constant problem, having double thoughts actually to get a gixxer

It's only an artist impression. It's Photoshop-ed with 07 600RR, 07 RC212V and 07 Hornet.

I am certain for the 2008 1000RR, we will see ECU + IACV induced engine breaking reduction system (like in MotoGP bikes), more direct ram air and 1 piece rear and signal light design and higher handle bars.

Of course, it will be lighter, has higher hp and torque. This one is a no brainer.

The coil issue may be a thing of the past. So far none has experienced the issue when the mag flywheel and coil are changed. Of course, there are imitations parts floating around. If those aren't genuine parts, you may hit the same issue. The only place you are assured of genuine parts is from BS.

As to why some 06 has this problem, again, I'm thinking Honda was trying to get rid of the defective parts by putting them in the 06 models.

Because the Buddha says this is a world of samsara, I can be sure there’re no perfect bikes out there. Some riders are perhaps not so forthright about problems with the bikes they are riding for fear of not being able to sell their bikes.

So far, I have no worries about buying another 2008 1000RR again. This is a close knitted community, any problems we encounter, our fellow riders are always here to help.

When my coil was burnt during last year’s MotoGP trip, the Stink gave me troubleshooting instructions, and also helped coordinate with the Malaysia office to see if they have spare coils. But there was none. Meanwhile Cosmos had a spare coil, he met up with Ismail to pass it to him in SG. Ismail then rode from SG to Ayer Keroh to deliver the coil the next day. Jungleboy lent me his Blade, and Chilly accompanied me from KL to Ayer Keroh to collect the coil.

I am deeply touched.

There was once Beagle did not ride his bike for a long time, and it stinks of dead meat. He was so scared, he thought a cat had crawled under his bike and died. And he dragged me from my house so I could help him to lift up the bike cover.

the coil is like a woman. unpredictable and high maintainence.

today it will operate smoothly, the next day may give you problem.

i know as i've changed 5x coils since july 05.

the coil and flywheel were last changed sep 06 @ bs. so far so good, think no coils been burnt after this combo. go bs fix it, they give you 6mths warr.
