any one lookin 4 me? whether its ARROW or YOSHI its ur own preference....... but if u remove the silencer in the legal ARROW pipe, its will sound louder but u will lose ur compression..... and its so loud that TP can tell the diff..... so they will sure tell u to go LTA for inspection..... then its $500 donation to them.......

I put YOSHI cos i like the shape...... when fitted it does'nt look so empty when u look frm the back......

there wun b much HP increase..... onli increase in sound n torque.......

When is the next petrol session?

its better tat i show u rather than tok abt it......

Agree with you Jerry7007. Of course I would rather hear and look at the pipe on the bike physically to appreciate what you are trying to say, but look at the weather. Even frogs won't go out in this weather let alone talk about riding a bike.

Yes, that is what I am after... an increase in torque, which is useful for Singapore riding, not trying to squeeze out more HP out of the machine coz I ain't no Rossi.

What is the price comparision between Arrow and Yoshi streetlegal slip ons? And what was the cost and procedures involved in getting it legalised by LTA?

Some enlightening would be greatly appreciated.

The price is very different, and configuration oso very different.....

For ARROR, they got both slip-on or full system, the specs I am not so sure...... but price should be ard $1100 for slip-on, $1800 for full system.....

As for YOSHIMURA, Motor-World have the street legal GP FORCE slip-on, and the race spec RS-5, i tested the RS-5, its far louder the GP force, more power increase but it obivous to TP cos the sound is louder than RS-3 full system.......

the power increase for my GP force is abt 3 bHp..... for RS-5 is ard 7-8 bHp.....

my bike on stock is at 150.5bHp on rear wheel, after installing BMC air filters, PC 3, HRC air funnel kit & GP force slip-on, the power went up to 154.4bHp.......

but there's a signaficant increase in torque, from stock at 74.03 ft/Lbs 90.10 RPM increase to 79.97 ft/Lbs at 88.84 RPM.......

so tat's all the information that i gather, my CBR now is far more smoother than the stock after installing PC 3 and dyno mapping ( which was done at Loois, Meng Tong), there is a slight flat zone between 2-3 RPM but its hard to tune tat area cos our bike is consider high performance track bike.......

any one else got any tin to share?

Aiyah Jerry, you never give me the full picture.

You give me price of Arrow but what about the price of the Yoshi you fitted on?

Having a flat between 2000 to 3000 rpm?

That is going to make the bike difficult to ride in traffic... thats the zone the bike is literally running at whilst on Singapore roads. My bike is used for work everyday so I cannot afford to have a bike that is more set up for track use then daily commute.

Looks like I will just put on a street legal slip on without the other stuff.

Hopefully it gives me a bit more torque which is useful to my style of riding.

U wun feel the flat zone...... u will feel it when its throttle hard.....

it wun affect u much during daily riding...... its there when u close n open throttle hard......

the GP force is $1000, RS-5 is ard $900.....

when we got chance to meet up for petrol session then i let u test n feel the difference.....

KEN,

If it was a case of only getting a flat spot during hard acceleration, then that is kinda of expected. In the old 6 cylinder CBX (if you remember them) they had accelerator pumps, a small little dashpot filled with fuel that would spray a small amounts of fuel into the intake throats of the cylinders, when you grabbed a fistful of throttle. This thing works only on carburatted bikes.

I guess its hard to strike a balance. If you want the engine to perform at high RPMs it ain't going to be smooth running slow. Kinda like can't have your cake and eat it thingy.

I guess I would be going for the Arrow slip-on. I have seen the removable baffle and the design incorporated to reduce noise. I intend to modify the baffle at my own workshop to make it variable from as quiet as with stock baffle to as loud as no baffle.

It has been a long while I did this kind of personal modifications to things so it is kind of exciting and fun.

Mebbe someday I will share with you guys how I once modified a water injection system for a bike. You know how smooth the engines run on cold mornings and rainy days versus how rough they run on hot days? Piston engined propeller aircraft use this system to boost up their power for max rpm.

With water injection, you cool the precharged mixture allowing more mass per induction stroke, cylinder head temp comes down, less carbon buildup and you feel like you are riding the bike in the early morning hours even in the hot afternoons.

I see what you mean by not much empty spaces between the pipe and tail housing now.

So the Arrow pipe has more air gaps in between then.

By the way, very nice paint job. I suppose yours is the only 04RR with this paint scheme, would be easy to find you.

How often do you go to Seletar dam?
