where is mah? due to time constraint cant experiment too much. was thinking mebe can walk ard some hardware shops and see2 maybe got cheaper alternatives...

also those having sidebox (those detachable ones) is it normal for the boxes to move a bit after slotted in and kinda shake ard if u riding at bumpy rds? would it be better if to get a cloth or those anti slip cloth and put between the base and the rack so that it will fit snugly and will this cause lesser vibrations?

any input is much much appreciated. :)

Do you mean just the boxes of together with the base rack itself?

If just the box moving, loosen the 2 mushroom head support below,

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/ezimagecatalogue/catalogue/variations/1094-425x350.jpg

and turn around for the unused part, as the old section has seen better days, so time to fully utilize the whole head.

Also, maybe have to change the monokey catch part,

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn201/MK8ParnZ/DSC00063.jpg

as this, when worn, may not catch the box part snuggly.

Above parts can be found(maybe need to order) from Givi Mah.

Otherwise, if the whole thing wobbles, it could be due to the mounting points.

Thou strong & sturdy when not on the move, the vibrations is much more when OTR.

What boxes are you using? On what bike?

Cos some particular boxes, with the handles, you can actually secure them with a type of strap to reduce or dampen the vibrations(if you mean the whole thing wobbles.)

can u post more wholistic picture of the mushroom head? not really sure what isit.

not the rack loose but just the box a bit moving and vibrating when bike on the move. i didnt know the catch in ur second pic can detach, wll check it out soon. cant we just put the non slip padding buy at shengshiong so that it will be more compact? put at the catch area and the two slots and maybe some in between the box and base plate? anyone tried this before?

Wat I previously did to remove the unwanted vibrations was to buy those circular rubber covers for the legs of the chair. Cut them cross-sectionally and fit them on the 4 rubber bush available on the baseplate. it helps a lot to reduce vibrations and movement.

Will post a pic once I have taken to illustrate a clearer picture.

Im not sure...but u can call SK they know...anyway Aetos also got exactly the same model as the cisco bike....:faint:

cant upload the pics...

but check this out

Aetos :faint:

Exactly the same...should be the same distributor all

But the Bol'Dor AETOS are using a different type of panniers. You mean SK=(Seng Kwang) knows where to order these panniers?

Its the mushroom head support below the rack, supporting the boxes if u are using the monokey boxes. Unless you are using the monolock boxes, then, maybe hv to change rack liao?

Monolock plate:

I hv the encounter that my E41, right side doesnt fit properly & vibrates when on the move, only to discover that the catch has been worn, so I replaced them & it's secured again.

Hmm monolock was never meant for sidebox maybe thats y it worn off easily i guess...but i wish my wingrack can convert to monolock vise versa...cause there is a variety of smaller box to choose from...

oh, like that ah, suggest you change them to metal type if you are using the plastic de. As it'll be more sturdy & rigid.

As for the metal pieces, imo, its the bike shop mass fabricated. So either you pop dwn to 219 or maybe LAB & ask if they hv any for sale?

bro, i think got, but very ex wor.

change to SW-Motech's. can interchange any type of catchments you like, using same plate.

but hor, damn ex la...

er... u refering to me?

:slapforehead:

alamak, i matapotek..

nw then i see yr post.

frm yr pic, yr right box seems tiliting dwn.

ok, suggest you go add another bar from 1 side to another, bypassing the rear mudguard.

adding on, get the base plates change to metal de(ignore if oready is), go SK & ask them to add reinforcements, maybe lower yr exhaust so can lower the boxes too, comfort for pillion.

But be prepared for the quote & leaving the bike there for minimum 1 day.

for more sturdy setup, get a strap with clip, thick enuff to secure the 2 handles of yr sidebox, & strap them together when OTR touring.

hehe... khai, speaking of aetos, while i was on aye heading to lower delta just now, saw 1 aetos bol dor shooting away, from taman jurong there, so after i exited from the esso, thought i give chase.

which i did to hv a close up look. :D

then i look @ my meter, wow, weetech open lo...

then suddenly, when i look @ my mirror to check bindspot... !!!

another aetos bol dor behind me... -.-"

so me, ish being machiam sandwhiched..

so upon opportunity, i kept right to let the behind bol dor over take me, which he didnt.. :?

& so, i didnt bother, i kept my pace still behind the from bol dor, until i filter to extreme left, bypassing the front bol dor also, bt to my surprise, the behind de, is still behind me!!!

& then i filter out to lower delta rd & he just overtake me & shoot right..

hehehh... i wonder whats in their mind when i was inbetween them...

Hmm... Looks like I have another option for side panniers. I suppose from the looks of it, arsonist's panniers are GIVI E20N Monolock and made in Malaysia. So it seems that there is another slightly cheaper alternatives to mount side panniers.

And the E20N don't look that bad from the rear...

Arsonist's, you have a pic from the right side?

But bro, do bear in mind its a monolock box. meaning, you can only use monolock baseplates as mounting plates, which imo, hv to reinforce to secure it.

Yupz... Notice the the EMAS Yellow/orangey Bol'Dor. Wadya mean by reinforcing the Monolock boxes? You mean the way the base plate has to be mounted? Or isit the whole box itself needs to be reinforced?

If its the base plate that has to be mounted, the I suppose my prob would be solved cos I have found a solution to mounting the base plate to my existing top rack. All I need is the reinforcement bar that runs along the back of the mudguard and bolted with the number plate + a bracket on each side to mount to the pillion footrest bracket customised from SK. I can assure that my DIY would be strong enough to sustain some load on the panniers.

The pelican look a like panniers for adventure and touring bikes are very common in the EU region... :)

They would look nice but tif we were to get these "pelican" cases locally, might have a prob attaching it to a rack as they don't normally have a base plate. Need to customise a base for it to be able to easily attach/detach to a rack. :)
