wah biang eh...was planning to seal some cartons liao. But one carton still waiting for 2 seats to arrive. Now its possible that they wont come in time for me to bring home to Singapore. So that carton has excess weight allowance and I dont know what else to stuff in!

I now have 5 luggages, 3 of them comfirm has to pay fines.

Now trying to spread the weight so I wont have to pay extra fines.

The carton of Goldwing stuffs is already 19+ kg, 4 more kg and I need to pay more fines.

you may want to try to use the USPS domestic priority mail flat rate box to ship tosingapore. it's pretty ok for the size and you can use 20lbs into it.

buy the shipping via USPS online and it's only US$35.50. it'll arrive in singapore in 6-10 days.check usps.com for details.

the last time I travelled with NorthWest in April.

The allowance was 23kg per bag. And only 2 bags checked in.

the handcarry can be 40kg?

My 23 kg is already one big army kit bag.

if you don't mind to pay another $30 for another 8 kgs making the total weight 32kg it should be fine.. that's for NWA

I got JAL for the 2nd lag of the trip, so I am stucked with 23kg for one bag, exceeding 23kg but below 32kg, I need to pay USD50/-

to american airlines.

~~~~
But for additional bags of 23kg, I only need to pay USD80/-. Which was more economical.
Let me check with USPS again. Because the boxes was not the problem, it was the weight of the items to be shipped back to Singapore. The estimated cost they gave me was USD350+++
ohh yeah . you can get those boxes free from the post office. just ask for priority mail flat rate box..
or you can get usps to send it to you but it takes 2 weeks usually.
as long as you can squeeze 20lbs of stuff in there the post office won't say anything.. squeezing includes oversizing the box till you have to tape it up..
Type of baggage allowed
Carry-on ~1x 45 in/114 cm 40 lbs/18 kgs.
Checked ~2x 62 in/157 cm each 50 lbs/23 kgs
$25 USD charge each for bags weighing 51-70 lbs.
yup you can choose to pay the $25 or use the priority mail box.
carry on is usually not enforced... unless you seemed to be like carrying very heavy items.
those items i carry on usually i ask someone to hold for me when i go check in ... when you appear at the gate with those items they can't say much too.
and if it's too little space on the cabin they will offer to you check in your carry-on for free usually. this applies to NWA and UAL.
Sigh...I cant get away from it eitherway. Cos we are talking about cartons here and the kit bags.
But if the clothes can be mailed back. I really wouldnt mind lessening the load. Will check with the USPS personally tomorrow.
do head down to the post office. for clothes maybe you would like to use vacuum bag and then pack inside the usps box?
i get my vacuum bags from costco at about $14.99 for a set.
