hi shmokeajoint,

how long have you been riding? have you restore any vintage before? if not, then i suggest you let go the thought.

Not easy to restore vintage like cb350, need lots of time n money to find parts(someone here used 3 years to get the bike fully restore). 350f got less than 30 on sg road right now and most of them are in "sleeping mode".

i suggest you looking for new bike like cb400ss or w400, dun need to worry at all, bike is new(3-4 years old) and part can order anytime from japan without any issue.

hey, no i have not restored any vintage bikes before. wanted to get one to restore and change as much as possible to NEW so that it would be as good as buying a first hand bike. another reason would be being that i enjoy the process of something "coming back to life" hence the idea to restore.

any suggestion in that case to use as a platform to customize into a street tracker/cafe racer? money wise i'm not too restricted (cos i still don't have a family and i have a long way to to) so am pretty willing to get a totally new engine and stuff like that if i have to but am not saying am gonna pump $3,285,823,759,184,791.34 into it.

at the end of the day i'd want to have a classic bike and do it up the way i'd want to, advice would be greatly appreciated again! :)

you have to know what u are dealing with, cb350f is a very nice bike to ride.

u are really keen, do some research before u commit to it.

Below is the parts list where u can order the parts.

parts to order:

http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB350-FOUR/

http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb350ffour-usa_model435/partslist/

New 4 into 4:

vintage CB forum:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?board=2.0

always rem the steps to restore a vintage:

1. find the right bike

2. find all the complete parts before project start, this step will take from months to years

3. find a good workshop that know what he is dealing with(many peoples from here know what i mean)

If you not plan to keep the bike for long then i suggest u give it a pass because too much work, time and money involve... myself currently restoring 1, took me 3 months just to find the parts from uk and usa and the bike had already jam in the workshop for 5 month already. hopefully work shop will get it done by end of this month.

mine most of the thing is up, left with the top cam and the head cover! cant wait to fire it up!

sounds like how i started.

anyway, 736cc is right, better nt start on this kinda hobby at all unless u like to bleed more money than u anticipated or maybe u find ur life is nt "exciting" enough. sometimes "funny" things will happen, "funny" things that involve losing money for no reason. u really need to have a good sense of humour.

if u want do those modern classic like W400 and cb400ss. lots of potential and less trouble.

thanks for the great advice 736cc and swiftee! however knowing that these bikes are hard to find in Singapore, is there anywhere that you guys can suggest I start looking? i've tried SBF and SG bikes mart but no success with w400/cb400ss/cb350f/rd350. the only one i've managed to find is a rd350 LC, would that be a good platform bike or would it take too much time/work and money to make into a cafe racer/street tracker?

Hi,

RD350 LC look not so nice on cafe because its 80s era bike but very good to make into classic street fighter. U try to look for 1975 RD350, my friends used to had 1 but just sold not long ago.

There is 1 cb350f at around ah boy work shop but quite run down condition,AT plate u can try n ask whether they want to sell or not. But I did offer them but they said not for sale. :(

I have one AQ plate cb350f on hand, but haven complete yet. if u keen u can take over n carry on with the project. Bring to yr work shop because my workshop got no time to do it. :(

Top engine cam, engine head cover haven install, carb need rebuild and need lots of polish work on the bike..Please pm me the price for incomplete take over. My new job start on feb 7, no more time. I very tired to plan n restore old bikes already must let new blood to enjoy the joy of restoring old bike. Never end problem! Ha ha

Hello, noted on the rd350lc but classic street fighter is not for me though. haha. however taking over the restoration project sounds like a very good idea, only thing is that how much are you expecting for it?

it seems like nobody wants to sell a cb350f, is everyone keeping it till its worth a lotttt or what?

if anyone knows of anyone selling a Honda ST70 "Dax" or a Yamaha LB80 "Chappy", please do let me know. hopefully the engine runs, aesthetics and everything else do not matter at all.

of course, with renewable COE. looking out for these 2 bikes for a friend and eventually undertaking the task of restoring the bike too.

regards all :)
