Just to share - i checked with Bajaj in india and the local agent responded. They recommend we use 92 petrol for the 200 Pulsar. Can save a bit more.

hey hey hey, do u know where im typing dis post from? of cos not. well... im in KL right now. yup. i rode to Kajang alone via NS highway to meet up with my relatives. tomolo im going up 2 Sungai Buloh to meet up with my uncle. i'll be back in singapore on Sunday. ok heres a summary of todays ride:

 

set off around 7am to wdlands chckpoint. reach my first RSA (Rest n Service Area) at Machap around 8.40am toolk 20 min break. den continued on till d 2nd RSA, Pagoh. Met a few Singaporean Riders der. took a 20 min break. den set of to d next RSA, Ayer Keroh. 15min break. den set of to my last RSA, Seremban. 20 mins break, met d riders i met from Pagoh der. from der, i rode of to Kajang.

After passing Kajang Toll, i called my cousin 2 pick me up. yeah, right now im siting in his room, typing dis post. wish me d best of luck.

 

Johor 2 Machap: around 30-40min. rest 20 min.

Machap 2 Pagoh: around 30 min. Rest 20 min.

Pagoh to Ayer Keroh: around 30min. Rest 15min.

Ayer Keroh 2 Seremban: around 30min. Rest 20min.

Seremban 2 Kajang: 15min. wait 2 my cousin, around 10min.

 

Average speed: 100-110km. i did manage 2 hit 118km but only 4 short while.

it was tiring but enjoyable ride. i didnt feel stress n bike my didnt feel stress also. will post d pics wen i come back.

Bro - suggest u stick to the recommended oil. May have issues at high temp. and engine speeds (rpm). Thinner oil will not give u the protection u need.

 

After consult my foreman. He give the same advice. Now already change to 20W50.

Use the SAE30 can hear metal sound in the engine maybe because too thin. But is good for flushing the foreman said. Next time I will only use SAE30 for flushing (100km)before change EO. Since I have SAE30 FOC in my working place.

Now engine very clean all the dirt and sludge are out. No more metallic thing.

Like brand new engine from factory.

this morning when i was traveling along PIE when i heard a few loud "pings" from the front of my bike. then i felt the sudden lost of power. stopped by the road shoulder and as i stopped my bike it died. i tried electric start but can't then i switch the fuel tap to reserve and tried again. this time it started. my fuel gauge at that time was showing 2 bars. is this because of low fuel that's why my bike stalled?

I've juz done a top overhaul, and changed my 4th and 5th gear drivers.. Now when I'm in 5th gear with pillion, when reached speed about 80kmh^^ the RPM suddenly shoot up to the red color with the red light flashing, at the same time speed will drop drastically from 80++ down to 60++ with a very loud engine sound.. Thereafter I can sense the engine is much hotter than usual. Without pillion can go up to about 90+ but same problem will still arise.. The very moment when I hear the engine sound so loud, I tried clutching in immediately and then let go clutch and carry on open throttle.. But still doesn't really helps.

 

Anyone experienced such problems before? I suppose its very dangerous, imagine I'm on the 2nd or 3rd lane of the PIE or AYE and suddenly my speed drop from 90kmh-70kmh. So now before my problem is solved I won't dare to exceed 70kmh, always stay in the extreme left lane liao..

Hmm... today so pai say. Was at Changi Airport and try using my new EZ link to exit the car park but failed... Ended up have to go to Cheers and buy a new Cash card.

Did ur bike got jerking feeling... something like choking type... if yes.. than ur bike might be low on fuel. regarding the ping sound.. cannot really help. cause the information is too vague. any problem, do not hestiate to go UM for check.

Sound familar.... there is a case, we encounter recently. The problem is exactly like yours.

 

Problem of that case is :

 

Ignition cable along the main wire is broken. Sometime there is electric current to the spark coil, sometime no, that cause the sudden rev of engine. Because the CDI cease electric current to the engine.

The owner of that bike faces these problem after overhaul the 4th and 5th gear, than by the next day. he have problem starting the bike.

 

Solution:

 

We manage to temp. fix the cable. the Owner ride to UM the next day and chose to replace the whole wiring of the bike rather than fixing it...

Ez Link cannot be use anywhere execept the ERP. Cause most of the carpark still in process of upgrading their system. Better stick to cash card for the next couple of year.

that used to happen to me when i first started riding my pulsar. later googled to find it was a false neutral.

 

technically, between all gears, the lower gear will have to disengage then engage the higher gear, e.g. come out of gear 4 to no contact then to gear 5. has to be that way, cuz can't be in 2 gears at the same time.

 

apparently the point when it's out of one gear and not in the next, it's a false neutral, not to be confused with 1-neutral-2.

 

happened to me because i wasn't kicking hard enough to gear 5, so 5th gear never engage properly, after awhile, will suddenly pop into false neutral. engine will rev high high into redline and bike will have no power. then have to clutch in, kick HARD up. always up, never down. n continue throttling.

 

why you don't kick down is because your wheel speed might be too high for the lower gear. e.g. if you're in 5th gear going at 90kmph, and it goes false neutral, your engine RPM high high, you close throttle, and it goes down to 4-5k then you kick down. there's going to be severe engine braking, 4th gear and 90kmph doesn't go too well. chance of locking your rear tyre from engine braking.

 

dunno if yours is the same? this is just my personal experience la. !@*#ing scary when it happens. the engine will "wwhhhheeeeeeeeeee!!!" very quickly into redline.

 

I've gotten into a habit of nudging the gear shift upwards when i'm in 5th gear already, just to make sure that the gear cog is seated properly.

Yo!! back from a solo 3 day road trip to Kajang, Kuala Lumpur, then up to Sungai Buloh,,Selangor to visit my relatives. It was a hell of a ride. Met both bitter n sweet experiences. Met a few Riders along d way n back. Like the Ducati gangs n 2 African Wtin riders.. on d way back, my chain snapped n I had 2 stop at d shoulder at night along Simpan renggam highway.. A forum rider was going home as well. I waved to him for help. He did stop by the shoulder and help me out a bit THANKS BRO!! whoever u are!!. He was riding a class 2 bike., cant remember Well… I did manage 2 arrive safely home. Will post the pics later. total distance i covered: approx 800km!!!

i called a tow truck to tow my bike 2 d nearest workshop. but seeing as its 1am in d morning, ders no bikeshop open. so he towed my bike back 2 his home with me along. i slept at his hse dat night. d next morning, we went 2 d bike shop 2 add d chain. d chain dat snapped was a DID chain which i changed almost 2 months ago. d tow trucker was puzzled as 2 how d chain snapped easily. i was puzzled 2. i did spray wax on d chain often. in d end end up wif a new chain. oh ya, b4 dis incident occured, dat afternn my bike broke down along Nilai highway due 2 leaked s plug cable. an indian guy came 2 help me fix it. in abt 20 mins time my bike can start n i rode slowly 2 nilai 2 find a bike shop 2 replace my 2 s plugs cos its been worn out. so yeah, ive got 2 bitter incidents during d trip. but i was sure as hell an experince. i learned d lesson d hardway. always bring spare things n equipment wen going on a long trip.
