running in the engines is quite easy.. just ride not more den 70km/h (personal preference), dun push ur engine hard (like hard acceleration when going off), and sayang it abit more can liaoz.. heh.. oh.. in case u dunoe wad is sayang.. its a malay word.. means dear or darling and also can mean take very good care of it in generic terms.. heh..

correct me if i am wrong... but i think it's more of the rpm range rather than the speed.

if you're running in a class 2 bike, and if they stick to the 70km/h reign, they can dont even need to change gear. :p

Helloouuzz... n welcome. im the so called 'watcher' by d way. if any topic interest me, i will intercept. if not, then i will just observe from my 19 inch monitor. :) anyhoozz, "goyang" means wobble in a simple way. NANAS is a long form for some Animal Farm association in Malaysia.

[...]

c d pic below? she is also goyang. goyang goyang....

hahaha, ok that's very explicit, love the pic haha.. Now I think I master the meaning of goyang! thanks ;)

oh by the way.. the NANAS trip right.. you can find the link here.. its an animal sanctuary located in m'sia.. quite near the 2nd link.. u can pillion us even thou you dun have bike! heh.. as long as you are interested.. u can pillion with nemesis, da big boss.. heh.. :p

The trip looks really nice and fun.

But it's too short notice for me, already have plans for this Sunday - and it's Ramadan month so no seafood before sunset :p Hopefully there will be future events I can join!

i tink the blog and twitter idea is great! but u will need time and effort for being the webmistress le! ha..

yes I understand it would require a certain commitment, but that's fine, I spend most of my day in front of a computer anyway...

I like this word :)

hehe.. o'ren is a lady! so can take over the bike! haha.. o'ren.. go go go!

I want a new one :shy:

you said you still have a few months to go before getting your bike? by then the rainy season should be here soon, so i guess it's better to change it before you push the bike out of the shop. most likely you can even get some discount for trading in the unused new tyres.:nono:

tyres are the only thing that is in contact with the road, so try not to scrimp on it?

Excellent point. Yeah I should be able to have the necessary budget for the bike around end of september, maybe October. Ok so need a bit more for tyres. i'd rather change them right away, good idea about trading the unused tyres, wouldn't have thought of this on my own - have so much to learn still... :nono:

well... I think most bikers would have this mentality but after some time on the road, their patience will wear off. once you see a gap and the vehicles in front of you are moving too slowly, you will usually lane split already.

so, dont be too quick on this?

Don't worry, there's no chance I'm gonna change my mind as a very good friend of mine had a very bad experience squeezing between cars and lane spliting, so I think I'm imune to that.. But I will keep in mind your comment, another person talked to me about how when riders get used to the bike and riding, they tend to forget their beguiner's cautious driving..

the tiny mirrors are called blindspot mirrors. can get it from petrol stations or those big supermarkets such as giant, carrefour etc.

ranging from $2 to $10 over dollars... and i would say it definitely a good thing to have. instead of turning your head to check your blindspot, you can just glance to your left and right while maintaining your sight and attention on the road in front.

OK, added to the list, thanks :thumb::thumb:

Thanks everyone for the kind help in answering my questions and helping me figure out things, this place is really awesome :lovestruck:

Just for info purposes, I asked for a quote from NTUC to insure of a Pulsar 200.

My situation is as follows:

Age: 32

Reg.date for driving license : 13/08/2009

For one year insurance: (nett)

Comprehensive Cover $1,030.26

Third Party, Fire & Theft $661.28

Third Party Only $388.43

Somehow I thought my age would play in my favor and get it cheaper, but apparently it is the driving experience (i.e age of your license) that counts.

Will ask for a quote from other Insurance companies and post them here, hopefully it can help new riders like me budget things.

actually this is the average insurance premium in the market currently... Anyway ur age would comes in very useful once u have cross the 3 years riding time... So in the end it is still more or less the same... Anyway u spend on insurance now, but u do get to save on your bike petrol consumption... that is if ya take pulsar la...

actually both age and riding experiences play a part. try calling few days later and tell them you are 18-25 (instead of 32) and see the differences of amount of premium they quote you.

What's "premium" ? Is it a type of insurance? What are the other types available?

premium is the amount of money that you pay for ur insurance

for example the $388.43 for the third party insurance

if you are getting a new bike installing alarm i think will void the warranty

i think if the security at your area is ok then i think alarm can wait till after the 1 yr warranty.

Oh ok I see for premium. So waow, if I install an alarm it voids the warranty ? Even if I get the shop to install it for example? Didn't think of that hmm...

I don't know 'bout the security at my area, but damn it, if I lived on ground flloor, I'd put the bike inside the apt ! (I don't care how excessive that might be - I don't want nobody to hurt my bike )
