Wooohooo ! Today I went to UM for the first time ! :cheer:

Sorry Cookie Monster, didn't see your reply until I came back, I went at noon.

as promised, I took pictures of the NEW PULSAR 180 UG4 for everyone here, and for future references in case new people show up on the forum asking questions about this and that.

I stored them on Flickr, but will transfer them on our future blog as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot Nemesis for meeting up with me there, waiting for me, and showing me around, introducing me to people, and answering all my questions ! Truely great, you're the best !:bow:

The staff @ UM is very friendly and helpful. Answered all my stupid and I-hope-not-so-stupid questions with patience and professionalism. I will still do some thinking and ask-around about the tyres and boxes, but I'm set on getting the bike from them as I can tell they will be very helpful to have on my side in the future, in case my bike needs more than my own attention

The highlight of the visit for me was when I sat on a Pulsar 200 - waaaaaaaaaaaah :lovestruck::lovestruck::lovestruck: - I was like a kid inside, tried to not grin too widely and look like a moron adult on the outside. Super happy inside. I was worried I would have troubles handling the weight of the bike, but even if it does feel heavier than the SSDC bikes, I think my super long legs will manage.

Thanks to Chris and Nemesis, I learned how to park the bike on the main stand. Took me a few tries to figure out (was trying to lift the bike with my arms - those who met me are probably laughing in front of their screen right now), but Nemesis stepped in and showed me how to position myself and use my leg to push the lever - piece of cake ! Again, the feeling when I put it on its stand, by myself, with zero help, so niiiiiiiiiice !!! :lovestruck:

Tried it a couple of times, push the bike off the main stand, "hop", put it back on. I was so happy I could've danced a happy dance right there if it wasn't for my inner adult voice saying "Woman, behave, we are in public!" :cheeky:

I can't wait to have my Pulsar 200 ! :thumb:

(Sorry for all the smilies, but I'm so excited about my future P200!)

If you have a biometric passport, you still have to register it @ SG custom.

Thanks Solar, added to the FAQ !

I got Lanzer's VADO HD for him @ $149. As for VADO, creative staff can get @ $89. But only limited no. of sets la.

Nomrally I don't recommend pp to get creative item but sometime due to the special staff price I will say OK.

Awesome - noted, will keep it mind when I am ready to buy the cam. (For now must focus on gear!)

I guess we should have our BOSS's contact number in FAQ - O'Ren, please note!

Hi everyone, I would like to ask for suggestions and remarks on the following:

Since there are A LOT of questions about the Pulsar bikes, coming up with one exhaustive FAQ leads to a messy result.

So I was thinking to do the following: create one page on the blog called "General FAQ" that will compile all the pre-buying questions and the general questions about the bike performances and maintenance.

And the blog will have articles added to the FAQ category, talking about more specific questions. That way we can go deeper in the subject of each article.

Here is so far what the questions of the General FAQ look like: (no particular order)

- How much does a second hand Pulsar cost ?

- What are the specifications of Pulsar bikes ?

- What type of box can I use with a Pulsar ? Where to get it ? How much does it cost ?

- I heard the stock tyres don't have a good grip on the road, is it true ?

- What type of license do I need to be able to ride a Pulsar ?

- What are the things I need to know before buying a Pulsar ?

- How much does a Pulsar 180 cost ? And a Pulsar 200 ?

- Can I find the Pulsar 220 in Singapore ?

- Where can I buy a brand new Pulsar ?

- Where can I buy a second hand Pulsar ?

- What are the payment methods when I buy a Pulsar ?

- What does OTR mean ? What does it include ?

- How much is the insurance for a Pulsar ? What is a second and third party insurance ?

- How much is the COE for a Pulsar ?

- How much is the Road Tax for a Pulsar ?

- Where do I get that ERP unit thingy that all bikes have ? How much does it cost ? How does it work ?

- How often must I do a bike inspection ?

- Is there any fairing that can be used to equip the Pulsar 180?

- Can I still buy a first hand Pulsar 180 UG 1/2/3 or do the shops only sell Pulsar 180 UG4 now?

- What's the difference between each Pulsar model/upgrade ?

- Where can I get the cheapest Pulsar 180?

- How much is the Fuel Consomption (FC) of a Pulsar 180 ? And a Pulsar 200 ?

- What kind of petrol should I use ? How much does it cost ?

- What kind of oil should I use ? How much does it cost ?

- How much does the gear cost ?

- What kind of regular maintenance must be done on a Pulsar ?

- What is the engine run in ?

- Who can I contact if I have more questions about Pulsar bikes ?

etc...

The questions that can be seperated from the general FAQ and could require a bigger answer than a few lines:

- I want to change the stock tyres of my Pulsar. What tyres should I choose ? Where to get them ? For how much ?

- Is intalling a light under the bike's seat legal ?

- Do I need to modify anything if I were to change my 2 pilot lights to led?

- Sometimes my digimeter console backlight will go off, why is that? How do I fix it ?

- I have troubles with my idling speed. It goes up sometimes and I have to adjust it, how to fix it ?

- Which sprocket is best for riding on the express way frequently?

- Where can I repair my Bike ?

- Where can I service my bike ?

- How do I change the engine oil (EO) on my Pulsar ?

The blog will include the following categories:

F.A.Q : any articles with content that can answer popular questions

Servicing & maintenance: articles about how to pamper our bikes

D.I.Y: articles about how to modify the bike by ourselves, or about DIY sessions (photos etc)

Tips: articles with useful advices and tips (for example, tips on preventing theft or lowering the risk of it)

BTMO and meet-ups: infos about the travels (photos, reviews, customs, gear, preparations etc.), and the last-minute or planned-in-advance meetings.

As much as I don't mind taking care of the blog and setting it up, I want to stress that this is just my way of saying thanks to the members of SBT and offering my little contribution to the life of the group. I am in no way deciding for the group, I am just trying to make things happen

So I still need as much help as possible for the following:

- suggest questions & (or) answers to add to the FAQs

- help write the answers that are needed

- read proof the FAQs once the work is done

- suggest topics for articles that are still missing and might be useful to others

- contribute with photos to illustrate articles and blog

- criticize to help improve the blog

For now, it's just the draft stage.

Let's write the questions/answers we think might be useful, and throw suggestions on the content.

By the end of the WE you should be able to see a rough version of our future blog (it's going to be hosted on Wordpress to start, and later when we feel the need for it or can afford it, we can host it on our own domain).

I hope everyone will feel encouraged to participate with comments and remarks. Nothing is fixed, and I'm sure there are a lot of things that can be added and improved.

Please participate and don't be shy or afraid of disagreeing!

BTMO this month will be ON.

Got permission from the Chief through phone.

SC Gaban and myself will organise a simple meet up but meaningful in life.

Details not finalised yet but pls do make yourself available on either 12 or 13 sep from 3pm to midnight. Will update the details by sat.

Currently we are waiting for a reply from the govern body whether we can make this BTMO reality.. if we unable to then we will still do it but in a different approach.

Pls read my previous post regarding my suggestion on the BTMO on page 220 #10986 ... something like that lah.

We have a very short period to organise it but we will still try our best to make it happen.

Gaban and myself hoping you guys will support us on this... in the mean time stay tune folks .....

Hahaha... so I guess the BBQ is at a ? now... Since Gaban got the boss' approval, then next Sat/Sun official BTMO.

That does not stop us from having our own gathering... though I can't make it for BBQ tomorrow :D

And damn, I want those ignition keys... mine looks so cheapo :(

Safety tips:

Always STOP at the STOP LINE!

Don't rush. You're not racing for a record.

Always look in front, especially when trying to change lanes, the vehicle in front might jam brake.

Don't be easily offended, a**holes exists, mingling with them gets you sh*t.

Nomrally I don't recommend pp to get creative item but sometime due to the special staff price I will say OK.

Reason for low price is these products may have some minor defects here and there (eg. no package box, some scratches...).

And its not refurbished item cause for refurbished items they only give 7 days warranty. For this ofter its given a 6 months warranty.

I can ofter to help you all getting it but no promise that I can get for all of you. As it depend on no. of stock left and no. of units each staff can get.

Thanks Bro...:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Managed to DIY the camera pouch onto my jacket, here's the clip

View is much better now but seems a teeny weeny tilted a bit.

Quality in the night is ok but not as good as during daylight.

Overall it's good enough for me.
