shld check with others first or u check wif d mech. If d sound does come from the teppet area, something is loose inside. if d mech mech recomends to open the top engine 2 c wats d prob, (which he will) den be prepared to fork out cash. dis is to my knowledge.

 

i'd like to know how much. ya know, to make me mentally prepared.

 

i forgot how much i paid to replace the leaky gasket. that sum will be the absolute minimum.

the piston rings are definately worn out. I only hope that that is the only problem.

if i need to change the conn rod and bearings... i think i will be ****ng blood for days on end, until i finally die from blood loss.

 

sounds like starter motor gone.

piston rings should last up to 100k km.

is that clank in a Cold Weather? if yes, most vehicle engine will feel like die. it;s normal

 

for normal weather 1st two mins will have some noise from the engine till to EO havent reach the engine parts yet.

 

after warmup and riding sometime should not have noise.

battery is like universal parts.. anywhere also can get it.

 

ya, i know batt may b universal.... but batt ampere rating n batt compartment is not, u will probably face problems if u fit a under spec batt on a bike. cos current insufficient....

hey all, i just sent my bike for a clutch overhaul (basket, plates, cable and all) and the mechanic says i practically have to change the entire clutch assembly. reading back on some of the posts here i understand that there are metal clutch plates between the friction plates that dont actually have to be replaced so often? when i visually inspected the metal plates at the shop they did not show any visible signs of wear, unlike the friction plates.

 

would it be 100% necessary to change the metal plates? cos to be honest, the parts from UM are quite expensive just trying to save on whatever cost i can.

Vox it actually depends how long the plates are up running on the bike. I did my change also yes its expensive lol. but ya it all boils down to before changing do you have any problem with it? If no dun itchy go change lol. See i itchy backside before anything time up i go change. Bomb, my "bi-annual servicing" cost me $500+++

hahah, the clutch has already been through 75k km and is kinda not 'biting' very well already. but i read that you just have to change the friction pads and not the whole assembly itself. i just dont want to be sold unnecessary parts as the parts are kinda expensive.

'reservist' dis sat? exercise 'rambo'? wats dat suppose to mean? rambo doesnt do rescue ops. he infiltrates enemy territories, beats up n kills pple who is in his way and just recsue 1 or 2 hostages. theres no hostage in this excercise. only so called 'casualties'. olthough im forced to come dis sat, screw this! lets screw up everything dis sat! i will.
