dats the thing. 'reservist' dis sat? exercise 'rambo'? wats dat suppose to mean? rambo doesnt do rescue ops. he infiltrates enemy territories, beats up n kills pple who is in his way and just recsue 1 or 2 hostages. theres no hostage in this excercise. only so called 'casualties'. olthough im forced to come dis sat, screw this! lets screw up everything dis sat! i will.

 

how, can still keep your 'goatie'?

me last time have some argument with my senior rank, he lost with my facts but I lost by his rank... he said either I choose to keep my goatie or serve my days at cell... but he gave me an option too... just trim it but don't be caught :faint:... but I loved those days too .... best part I served my call of duty 5 times only :cheeky:... now I'm free like a bird and ooh yeah talking about bird, the kamikaze birdie that ramp my helmet KIA on the spot.... saw it flattened it's feathers glued on the road.... poor birdie! Hopefully not a mother birdie ... sad to think of her eggs or chicks ... :cry:

hahah, the clutch has already been through 75k km and is kinda not 'biting' very well already. but i read that you just have to change the friction pads and not the whole assembly itself. i just dont want to be sold unnecessary parts as the parts are kinda expensive. :(

 

ya. only the pads. the whole assembly wld not come cheap lo u r rite. well when they take out ask them to show u the signs of wear and tear on the parts u feel unnecessary parts if really nothing or really just a little bit of scuff, it can still be used one lah

wah. sad sia. the mechanic called me and insisted the metal plates were damaged and had to be changed. plus now they say have to replace my left side bar controls at $65 cos damaged. plus plus all more than $350 ouchh. rrly painful for a poor NSF like me :cry:

ahhh, the thing which houses your signal light, high/low beam and horn buttons? :cheeky: dont know what its called.. haha. but it sure is expensive! clutch basket costs a hefty 160..

halo ppl.. haven been updatin myself greatly here.. haha.. but i see katana999 is selling his pulsar!! oh man.. i only met u like ONCE? hahaha.. bt we stay near each other rite.. all ard cck bukit panjang.. can come out lim kopi.. haha.. in any case.. anyone goin down UM on sat? i goin down to see my damaged bike juz towed back from TP.. ha.. its wif michael.. =P he tell me alot of things spoil.. =( $$$$$$$

sigh.. last time when we bought a pulsar.. we knew that some parts will be more expensive compared to popular honda or yamaha..

 

but lately, seems like they are practically sucking our money away. the 2 most recent times I have been to UM service side, they tried to get me to change parts that need no changing. I'm rather disappointed at their unprofessional way in conducting their business.

 

and honestly, half the time the mechanics dunno whats wrong with our bikes anyway. they guess this and that.. we end up spending hundreds on something that should cost less than 50 bucks.

yeah.. my guess is that they make most of their cash from selling the bajaj parts to us. so makes no business sense to them to try to 'fix' things with a little more effort. so now most of the time they just tell you to change the parts, and sometimes even the whole assembly. very different attitude from some of the other shops i've been to, who always try to come up with ways to troubleshoot and fix instead of simply telling you to buy the new parts.

 

rode home from universal today thinking that perhaps some competition would be healthy for the local bajaj community...

depends on ur knowledge of ur bik olso la. if the mech wants u 2 to change, but u die die dun wan cos u know it can still work den dun change.

yes, but i mean, i would assume that most of us would prefer to TRUST our mechanics to make sound decisions for us, as they are the ones who have attended training for our bikes and are supposedly more attuned to the inner workings of our delicate machines.

 

asking us to change parts that are still serviceable / can be repaired would be quite a breach of trust don't you think? unfortunately the practice of repair is probably not in the best interest of their sales figures.. :sian:

 

so i guess the responsibility of diagnosing the bike's fault now falls onto the customer.. :(

den check with ur guys, servicing for bike for every 2000km should go to UM for the servicing.. or jus go normal bike shop to change EO and tigthen chain?

Every 2k ah, if you know what EO to use and what to do you can pretty much go any motorshop. But of course, with mechs that know Pulsars if anything looks wrong they can tell you, but with the kind of service they are giving right now... Erm... Haha..

 

Maybe the other bros here can advice, got some itching to try out other motorshops. :wink:

Don't rush. You're not racing for a record.

Always look in front, especially when trying to change lanes, the vehicle in front might jam brake.

Don't be easily offended, a**holes exists, mingling with them gets you sh*t.

My bike stalled in heavy rain!

Luckily near home.

Pushed all the way home in the rain.:cry:

 

Symtom :

No power.

Like engine dying/ choking.

Rpm needle twitching 2k ~ 8k.

Exhaust back fire.

 

Tony and Adriel analysis : Should be water went into fuel/tank/carburator.

 

Any practical solution/help to get it started so that can ride to motor-tiam:cry:

correctto. hapened 2 me 3 times. just trottle n trottle until ur engine is hot. if u trottle, n it dies off, just turn on n trottle until ur engine is hot. remember kids, trottle n trottle.
