Actually need to know the specific sound. We're all bombing our theories. heee. I had a similar sheng sound on my other bike too. Turns out my rear tyre's brakes completely gone and it was rubbing against the whatchamacallit that holds the brake pads.

yes, exactly, need to know the specific sound and the source.

if the calipers are already rudding the pads, it is serous time to replace.

if you want to know if your rotors are worn, just look closely .

the part which is in contact with the pads will be worned deeper than the part which does not contact the pads. so you can guage how much it has worn in.

and unevenly worn rotor is more likely to cause squeak then "sheng" unles it is rubbing against somemetal parts which are not meant to be.

I'm kinda used to the sheng.. sheng.. sheng sound already.. . Anyway, have just purchased the lowering kit off e-bay. Should be arriving soon. Will bring it to the shop to get it fitted up and get the sound sorted out at one go...

Today also damn suey, kenna gum on my shoes. And those are one of my best shoes if i might add. Luckily my bike was spared... what a way to start the weekday. :giddy:

Hey, do all you guys do your servicing at the dealership? Eversince i had my bike (about 1 mth already), i do all my servicing at the dealership. Spent about 1k there already :pity: As i am awaiting my lowering kit to come, i have heard of this place called Combined Motors and will get it done there plus to have a check on the annoying sheng... sheng... sound my front brake rotor / callipers are creating. The labour charges at the dealership are abit high i find. What do you guys think?

Won't 1k la. I think most you will have to spend like $500 or so. And still can do carb wash and valve clearance. hur

tyres are about 450 (front & back),

batt is 250 (from HD, SS say my battery size they dun have, the ones they have are slightly bigger)

spark cable about 50 (old one the internal connector can come off)

brakepads 150 (two front one rear)

inspection 50 (time of the year, dun wan risk go myself)

labour 50 (cos not i chu the HP)

not the exact figures, but sum up to about 1k. if you plus 10 to each item it's about there already.

I'm kindof like you. I want good, fast service with integrity. Convenience is also important for me. As long I feel that I'm getting good value for my $$ & I am not obviously being carrotted, I don't really mind a higher price.

Oh Lun, you have your silencers for your pipes? try lor see if can pass inspection. Or your stock pipes?

no idea what the silencer is, but ya i have my stock pipes, and yup, i am just lazy to do myself, plus i haben change exhaust before (though i did dismantled the one on my runner last time to spray). Probably will try to do it the next time round, when i do not need to do any servicing during this period. excuses excuses.

just scared to spoil things beyond my spending means.

PBS, thanks. As i am awaiting my lowering kit to arrive, i won't go there first. I want to check on my front rotors and get the lowering kit fitted at the same time. Don't want to make 2 trips.
