just started going back to the gym after a long time. i ballooned so much and i am worried that i might end being fat. built up my stamina quite fast and after 45mins on the threadmill, my knees want to break (can't squat) and seems like the muscle near my ankle aches like hell....i think i must have did something wrong....does anyone know what i shd do to prevent such future pain? i want to continue running and i tried alternatives like cross trainer but nothing beats the feeling of running though.

You overstrained yourself. Long time never train, your body cannot accomodate like how you used to train last time. You need to train at a much slower pace and shorter time before slowly increasing the pace, distance and time.

I too just went to the gym just now. So embarrassing when I did bench press, I actually couldn't lift the weight off my chest at the 4th set, even though the weights weren't THAT heavy. So paisey cos I had to call out to this skinny fellow, training nearby to help me lift the weight off my chest and place it back on the rack... :shy:

HI bros,

I got this problem, I just started working out and watching my weight recently cos become too fat liow.

Alot of ppl, website, magazines, personal trainers all say that you shouldn't eat (carbs especially) between 2-4 hrs before bedtime.

But i usually exercise at late evening. By the time i'm done, its like 9-10pm and i sleep by 11pm most of the time.

The same ppl, website, magazine, personal trainers also say that the best time to eat is within 30 mins after a workout.

So how?

How do i eat well after my exercise and prevent the eat-before-you-sleep problem.

I know protein shakes can be a good solution. But im trying to greatly lose fats, so mainly do cardio work. Would a shake still be a good idea?

Help pls.

Its not about hard you can hit, its about how many times you can take a hit and remain standing

Actually, the meal that you take before bedtime should be just enough to sustain you, that is, eat small helping just so that you will not go to bed hungry. After an exercise session, your metabolism tends to be higher and besides, your body needs the nutrition to repair itself. Eating more protein and a little carbohydrate should be OK.

Protein shakes are great. High protein helps to build muscles and tone you up. So go ahead and invest in a high content protein shake. Do not get the protein mass gainer kind cos that kind will bulk you up... :goodluck:

i guess u can have protein shake after the workout . as they r not solid u might have caving so ideal solution might be some hard boiled egg and borcoli for protein and fibre. protein shake normally will have glutamine which help to retend your muscle. lastly wanna lose weight JUST DO IT

am having pains on my left knee area but not exactly the knee cap....been having this pain for a while now and i have been told to stop running. ended up on the cycle and cross trainers which was less stressful but still the pain didn't go away. tot was quite ok and went for a run on sat. ended up having pains that were so bad tat i could not sleep and ended up with a major limp the next day. was really painful that i hv to take painkillers....only afraid of a muscle tear or something....anyone experience such pains and if you had seen a doc abt it, what is the cause of it? think i may hv to finally see my company doc and see if they r going to refer me to doc tat specialises in sports injury....this is so frustrating and i hv to stop running...

usually run in the gym but last weekend, i ran outside and aggravated it esp on upslope. am on mizuno running shoes and i think it cld be my posture or something. use to have problems w right knee so perhaps i ended up putting too much pressure on my left leg. hmm age wise :) not too old...seen the doc today and i will hv to take an xray...she said something abt ligament...not a tear cos she said it didn't feel loose...she said i hv to stop running for time being

hey bro saw your advertise on your supplement. i think maybe u can promote your product in package form. meaning weight loss programme .... mass gaining programme... am thinking it easier for ppl to understand what they r for. Biker can purchase base on their fitness goal. Lastly tell them they need to get their ass to the gym :)
