not too bad leh...using this bike at CDC quite good too...but sometime e gear abit funny....cant seem to always engage e gears u wan....n throttle also feels funny....will get choke if throttle too much

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

Been riding a YBR for 10mths now. Its slow in top speed & pickup compared to the kups. But consumption is good, around 42-45km/l if u ride around 80-90kmh. The clutch & gearshift is OK, provided u don't rush to change gear. Overall a reliable & wallet friendly bike so far.

finally got some views.... niwae, my mind is made up. im getting one soon... i guess, for transportation/commuting purposes, its quite an OK bike... like wat PFR mentioned... "wallet friendly".. i like that term...

How about some bad points?

I forget to put up the side stand 90% of the times I used it (which is like 5% of the time; I usually use the main stand). So far, the bike managed to "throw" the stand up when I corner left and I have not lost balance yet. But I fear for the day I do...

A side stand stall indicator would be good.

The foot peg is not flippable. So don't corner too low. If the peg hits the road, there are only two possibilities: (i) the bike will bounce up, (ii) the bike will slide on the road with you following behind. Both have happened to me.

Since my experience, I've not dared to corner too fast. Always slow down before taking any corners or curvy roads.

I guess its a good bike, thats why CDC chose this for training. Everyday ppl hit, knock, fall but still they go smooth. I dont think CDC would choose this bike if its not a good bike. Yamaha is No 1 brand in bikes world. Me too interested to buy this bike, considering buying it. Got a quote from Hong Leong motors, ORT price $4500 including IU, COE, Tax etc. Got 3 colours, blue, red and black. Seems like good for commuting , transport purposes. I really enjoyed riding this bike at CDC.

Also I found similar kind of bikes from Suzuki, EN 125. Design almost same but not sure about price. Recently saw Honda CBF 150 also looks good. I just got my license, waiting to get one bike soon. :goodluck:

Yea, im using this bike too. for my first FC..its 48Km/L... thats very good..

Pick up, mostly depends on ur own clutching and throttling. I really wonder why i rarely see new rider buy this bike. is it because of style? power?

For me, i only aim mainly for FC.. its a 2B bike, so no much diff with other bike. 2B bike handling is not good. So, go fast also no point.

Have been riding this bike for 2 yrs + now. So far bike okay except for the following repairs done so far ;

-w/t 1.5 yrs, magnetic electric starter faulty , replaced at $150.00 .

- Replaced faulty relay at $80 to Honda relay

- Currently tensioner faulty liao , changing it this week at $50.00

So far still please with its performance as a normal road travel tool . :cheeky:

i wk for a pizza outlet and they are using tis bike. I have to say it quite gd frm all the abuse we gave to it. Its still going strong. This bike is not for those to crave of power. But its does helps to save ur wallet. Imaging we use this bike to despatch 1 day more den 100+km and i can tell u the fuel needle juz moves alittle bit.

If this is my bike damn i will only pump petrol twice in a month or so. Full tank for 92 or 95 mostly is 10+ dollar and can last u till long. Just how much u can save and its a tough bike to break.

2006-2007 - Honda Nsr sp FS 282*R ( Sold)

2007-2013 - Honda cbr 400 FM 990*R (Scrapped)

2011- Current - Suzuki Swift 1.5M

Sure... i got around 500 km for ybr before topping up. Full tank is 12litre according to manual, and i topup only 10.6litre. that gives about 48Km/L. Good on ur wallet :)

Basically, both have similar FC..so, wont have to worry much on fuel.

The weight difference between YBR n wave is about 15Kg.. YBR tires are bigger. Hence, could affect, acceleration, but if you know how to throttle n clutch, wont be any problem.

For me, personally, i dont like the look of kups..hence i opted road bike.

any ybr riders using yoshi footrest??

for me personally i tink it looks ok... but modify ur pillion footrest too n move it a bit back. looks qte funny if u use the stock pillion footrest plate. posture wise i tink its ok... i tink my legs are abit too long n tire after qte a long ride. it feels like putting ur legs on the pillion footrest... but got to get use to it. actuali its meant for sportsbike cos they have a low cut seat a a longer tank... but gd thing is the posture makes u grip ur tank automatically. also makes u sit back n u will straighten n lock ur elbows.

Just a short note on this bike ... really need to rev up or down to the right RPM when changing gears ... or else will "lugging" (too low revs at high gear) or "grinding" (too high revs at low gear). Clutch control is important for this bike as the gears seem to be sensitive to RPM. Furthermore there is no oil or air filter so the oil gets dirty fast with the road dust and metal particles from the mashing gears :giddy: I heard the bearing also will weaken after 2-3 yrs cos of this crankcase situation... hope somebody can confirm,,, so my only contribution is ; USE THE REV COUNTER :) Thks

yeah qte true bike gears qte sensitive to rpm. clutch control oso qte important. wat u mean no oil filter? i tink all bike hv. ybr filter is at the fuel switch ther. u turn it to off n unscrew the " platic tube ther. u shud see the filter inside.n all bike bearing will weaken after 2,3 yrs. its hw u take care of ur bike.
