I installed DIY oiler but i have 1 problem. The oil keep leaking! How to seal the part at the area where the tube meets the bottle cap? The oil keep leaking from the that area.

P.S: My DIY oiler is made in the way where the bottle is keep inverted so that gravity allows the oil to flow from the bottle to the tube.

Actually i do the connection very straight forward. Punch a hole small enough for the tube to go through, thats all. But i guess the oil would always find a way to leak through around the hole opening. So how do i stop the oil from leaking through around the hole opening?

if u punch hole very likely will leak. best is to get some kinda cap with opening and make sure the tube is able to fit onto it than it wont leak...

I am using those standard small diameter aquarium piping. Which kind of bottle opening would fit to those piping nicely?

Thanks. I would upload a photo when i can.

I dun know if i am being paranoid. Is EO very easy to catch fire? What if i forgot to turn off the valve and EO leak on the floor and some clown throw a burning cigarette on the floor? Would my bike burst into flames? :faint:

it might i guess... acctually u go any cheap cheap shop where they sell alot of stuff they do sell containers/bottles with cap where u can fit the tube on the openings...

As i mentioned, i just punch a hole in the bottle and insert the tube into it. EO leak from around the hole and onto the tissue paper i had attached to the opening to absorb the EO.

I am now using super glue onto the area where the hose meet the bottle cap. Hope it would work.

i have a suggestion for u guys, this idea came from jtzx + pureice + me

normally i will press the pump 2 to 3 time b4 i ride... this method so far so good, no leakage so far... only initially the tubes might come off, jus need to secure it properly with the cable ties... also cut a small opening on the tube so the oil could flow down (the section from the pump to the valve), make sure its not too big or ur oil will leak out from there...

yup.. this method is the v5 already.. Am using the version 3 only... Short path for the oil to flow = better flow rate also.. But am happy with my current version =D

Thanks for the suggestions! How do u guys keep the end of tube to drip directly onto the chain? What is the easiest and best method?

My tube kept shifting left or right over time.

They'd inserted a wire (you can get those old wire hanger) around 3"-4" in length at the lower section of the tube so to 'guide' the tube to the desireable position.

I did that but because the end of the tube there cannot be properly secured by cable tie, the tube would still go left and right even after i put in the wire.

How then ?

u have to bend the metal with the tube to cable tie to ur swing arm than bend the "tail" to reach somewhere above ur chain. Leave a gap of about 2cm between the chain and the tube as when u move, the chain will be stretched n moving up n dwn alot...

jt if u ever need to upgrade i have a spare bottle which is better than my current one (less bulky), let me know if u want it

got picture show me how small your bottle is?
