This is one long post so prepare yourself.

I enrolled my bike last June and was planning to pass my TP in dec 2015, was hoping i could do it quick if i rly focus and pay attention to every detail that was taught. Seeing my friends passing one by one is really disheartening what more some of my friends who are girls. Tomorrow i'm enlisting and i just failed my tp again ytd morning.

Here's my journey so far

---------------------------

Enrolled for private BTT at CDDC somewhere in 2014

-Missed the 1st test cos i woke up late

-Missed the 2nd one again same reason

-Failed the 3rd by 2 points

-Passed on my 4th attempt (somewhere in may of 2015)

Felt like **** cos even for BTT, i wasnt passing that fast so after this my friend and i decided to enroll for 2b bike at CDDC on June 2015.

Took me the whole of June, July and August to clear my Lesson 1-4 Theory and 5-7 DRT.

The waiting time was that bad cos i didn't check which centre was faster and better. Too bad CDDC was the worst and toughest amongst the three. After i cleared all the theory lessons, went on to book Prac 1 and IE for RTT. This is where my determination kicks in.

PRACTICAL 1

July 23

Nervous for my first ever bike lesson. Never rode before so i had no clue. My friend was better than me. Cleared gear 1-3, stopping and moving off and the introduction. Was a good lesson but the instructor didn't have time for half of it so i had to book for one more. CDDC allows the students to book 2 pracs in a row so you can have a faster chance of clearing a prac if u fail one but i didn't the first few pracs as i didn't know.

July 18

Confident. Started well but i didn't listen to the instructor's teaching. Stalled alot of times, fell of my bike 3 times and it was embarrassing. In the end, 3 people in my group left to finish up the prac 1, the others like me was stuck in the first half lesson of prac 1. My friend advanced to prac 2 and i was stuck in 1.

July 24

This time round, mustered up my confidence and listened to the instructor's teaching carefully and applied everything. Have to say this, it works but you must be confident in doing it. Don't be scared learning new things. Everything went well till the last part. Instructor brought us back to bike parking lot and we had to follow him in a tight space doing figure of eight. Somewhat teaching us to turn and turn. It was hell haha cos i was **** it in.

Sept 1

Was afraid of the last part again but everything went smoothly and i was too happy went the instructor told me i cleared prac 1 haha

PRACTICAL 2

Sept 7

Waiting time was 2 weeks plus wtf but this one an easy prac to me and im not boasting.

Seems natural for me. Learnt how and when to inch forward, blindspot, use of mirrors, signalling and just turning and turning. Turns out i passed on the first try. Really glad i did.

PRACTICAL 3

Sept 9

Really scared for this as it was the figure of eight, crank course and slope. Everything was new, for the slope i was rly confused about the signalling before you enter, when you're inside and before you move off. Forgot to use my rear brake cos i normally use my handbrake so i was wondering why i could move off one time resulting in my bike stalling haha, learnt this fast. Figure of 8 was hell, had to do everything quick and focus, like really focus. Pick up speed, signal off, kick up to gear 2 and look far and play with rear brake if not your bike will jerk and jerk if u on and off throttle. Exiting 8, signal left and slow down w rear brake and stop before white line for crank course. Quite hard for my first prac and i fell alot. Went onto grass patches haha, was too scared to throttle more so i didn't clear the 11 seconds for figure of 8.

After exiting 8, it's crank course. Check right and blindspot then move off and pick up speed. Change to gear to and clear within 6 seconds. Quite hard for me cos it was a sharp turn course and sometimes i got stuck in neutral gear cos my speed was too low and i was scared to rev move cos the distance is too little. Failed on my first attempt

Sept 11 & 13

Booked 2 prac 3 this time round, one after the other and i failed the second one. Honestly my third wasn't a good prac as well but i managed to not screw it up enough for the instructor let me go to prac 4. He said practice in revision but for now go and learn new things in prac 4. Was really happy haha

PRACTICAL 4

Sept 17

Another scary prac cos this time we are learning about plank, slalom and e brake.

Went off the plank alot of times as i wasnt familiar with stabilizing the bike using just your forearms and playing with the clutch and rear brake. Slalom was scary as well, can't rmb whether i hit any cones during this lesson but i know i didn't pass. Didnt have time for w brake so i booked another the next day.

Sept 30

Confident and eager to learn and practice. Plan was better but i was told time after time to use my forearm to turn left to right if its wobbling and to throttle more so i dont fall off the plank. Better to get 4 points instead of IF for that. Slalom was good, didn't have any problems with that. E brake was scary but the easiest to learn but sometimes the unluckiest cos the instructor told me e brake has the highest casualties, not sure whether that was true cos i've never seen one. Dont want to be the next victim. Kick up to 3rd gear for this and maintain 30-35km mph, eyes straight, body straight, arms straight and locked, legs grip the tank and break after the white line stopping before the red line. Sometimes if you're unlucky i break too hard on the front, my right foot went down haha that one rabak. Everything went smoothly and i passed.

PRACTICAL 5 (CIRCUIT ASSESMENT)

October 4

After my fourth prac, i found prac 5 at night and i was to kanchiong so i booked it without any revision. Sad to say, i was given 30 points w one IF. Failure to give way to vehicles, really wanted to end and at the last part turning to park my bike i didn't see this car and i kena one IF. Felt like **** but it's ok cos it was just to test the water.

October 7

Accumulated 30 plus points w no IF. Went for revision again after that.

October 10

Booked 2 session today in case i fail the first and i did with an IF, i fell off the plank.

Second session also fail cos i hit the cone in slalom a little. Gotten 16 and 12 points respectively, felt really **** and loke wasted my time.

October 11

Fifth time doing this again, felt like **** but better cos got one guy only w me doing prac 5 so i thought hey maybe they give chance. In the end we both fail cos i got another IF, exitting the Emergency Brake i change lane at the white line not the give way line. Got 14 points.

October 11

6th time and was confident. Was just scared for figure of 8 and crank course and right where i was, got stuck in neutral at crank course. Was told to quickly kick down to gear 1 and drag gear so to get 4 points instead of IF. Total points this round was 8....

October 19

Really feeling like ****, told everyone i pass prac 5 cos i've never of my friends having to take this long for test only and it's the first.. Failed again cos during slalom i throttle too much and i didnt have time to navigate through the cones so i just bypass it. Didn't even wanna think about points cos everytime i get IF I GET GOOD POINTS NO IF POINTS 30 plus..

October 20

Eighth time here and failed again but this time round no IF only points. Giving up real soon but i told myself **** this i want my bike.

October 20

my baby prac 5, did revisions and asked the instructor. It was at night and there were 3 people. Everything was ****ing smooth up to the plank. Leaving the plank my rear wheel dropped. Felt ****ing sian and i gave a **** look. Slalom and e brake clear ok. Went back to training shed and almost went rogue.. I was called up last and the sequence is those who fail wil be called up first then the passers last one shot in one group. I was waiting and i know everybody fail cos the second girl that got called up fell off the plank and i was third to be called up. He call me and say he give me chance cos i took this 9 times. Just remember to practice. I was ****ing happy, like legit srs that instructor made my night. I willl remember his name.

PRACTICAL ****ING 6

October 23

Finally was really excited to go out on the road and learn new things.

It was rly fun being on the road but scary cos its my first ever. Didn't perform well so i had to book another

October 27

Exciting was really wanted to pass but fail cos safety checks, lane changing and delaying was in account.

Nov 2

Sat down and listened thoroughly, in the end pass. Woooo

PRACTICAL 7

Nov 8

Was quite scared on this one cos of U turns, one wrong move and you kena if u never observe the traffic regulations. U turn was wobbly and slow so i had to come back another time.

Nov 12

Did quite well cos got one veteran girl so we followed her, bad mistake in a long run. Should have learnt it myself. Passed and on to prac 8.

Nov 13

Found one the next day, fail w 24 points and no IF. Really need to work on my general riding.

Nov 24

Practice and went for revision, really focus and paid attention. In the end passed w 12 points haha. Excited for TP!!!!!

All in all did 4 circuit revisions and 1 road revision.

For my IE and RTT

Felt that it was unnecessary for IE which is internal evaluation so that you can take rtt.

Cant rmb how many times i took my IE but i can assure you i took it more than my prac 5

Everyday i would visit CDDC just for IE and everyday fail, even lied to my gf cos im sick of failing and felt really ****. Passed after a while and booked my RTT. Passed my RTT on first try wooohoo, did manually on paper and they called when i was in school. Was really happy cos my friend failed hahaha

Booked my TP on January 6.

Went for 2 road and 2 circuit revision before my tp.

Was really nervous cos it's TP and it's not like in car when you're evaluated by one guy beside you. This is 10 tp standing at each station while 49 other bikers can see u doing your mistake. Really pressurizing but i managed to not get any IF. In the end, they call out my number. ****. 28 points. Went down and was lost for 30 mins, sat down at the training shed for 30 mins talking to the malay instructor bahawdin. He's really nice. He told me not to give up cos he took 4 tp during his time. Felt motivated so i booked the next on march 16.

March 16

Went for 2 circuit and 1 road. Circuit is a killer for points so i make sure im confident to not get any IF or points for general riding. Again wake up in the morning, again w 50 people and again sat down 1 hour for refreshment.. Got this aunts permanent resident for tp, a chinese aunty if you guys at CDDC knows. Start TP, smooth till crank course. Got stuck in neutral and my left left hit laid down on the kurb. Confirm IF, other than that all okay. Went back up again at the room 9 lvl 3. I can distinctly remember the room smell. Scary smell as u wait for tp to call out your number. This guys beside me also doing his second TP, young buck and he was more nervous than me. In the end, his no wasnt called and he was relieved. I was waiting for mine. Suddenly 43 44.. ****, again but what happened this time. He said i got 30 points and my blindspot gave me 16 points, what the flying ****.. I was really pissed.

I told myself i've come this far and im not gonna give up. I can do this and i book another TP on the 11 of May, 2 days before i enlist. Went for 2 road revision only as i didnt have time. My friend in BBDC got tp dates 2-3 weeks in between while i have to wait 2 months. The waiting game is a killer.

May 11

Came down early and i told myself not to talk to anybody cos for the past 2 TPs someone talks to me, i'll fail ahha. Warm up i fell the plank so wuite nervous but i kept calm like legit i wasnt scared cos i was confident. TP start and my no was 44, start point turn left change lane to right. Had to stop before stop line then the inevitable happened. I stopped to sudden.. Right leg down.. Confirm IF and i looked at the instructor he quickly write down and i was like **** really? I just start.. Slope was ok 8 and crank course was good. Plank was good and slalom felt good but i got 6.5 seconds resulting in me getting 4 points.

Went to e brake, this is by far the smoothest and fastest TP for me, he signalled for my last course. The Emergency brake, i realized theres one instructor talking to the tp in front inside the shelter. I think it's to deter them from focussing. No doubt CDDC instructors are nice. Start my e brake and something happened when i brake. My right leg down again.. Felt like utter **** 2 IF already.. Went out to road and came back ok just that one chibai white car overtake last min at filter lane chevron marking so i had to jam brake. U turn was weak. Came back up and the smell of the room haha, suddenly one by one tp call. Was expecting a miracle to happen. Then they call 43... 44.. **** again.. Never kena IF but 30 points again. This time it was 12 points for wobbling 6 times.. I was like okay cannot argue also.

Now im waiting to finish my re training for the third time and revision when i book out from my confinement. Gonna ask my sir for leave for one day for my tp in july if possible. Gonna sit down one day w my instructor to evaluate and refresh my memory for the whole course. This is gonna be my 4th TP alrdy and im feeling so sian..

Ok. Looks like you need more circuit. The wobbling is because of your eyeline. You probably are too tense and your eyes looked down. (Your eyes probably flicked down because you were unsure.) Even for 1/4 of a second, it makes you wobble.

At all the courses, You have to learn to imagine that you are wearing a raincoat that covers totally your neck down and your bike. You can only look far left, far right, and let your body judge the speed and adjust the throttle and gear. I know its hard. Try it one time. And repeat that as much as possible untill its muscle memory, and you dont even have to think about it.

I did it with listening to music on inside my helmet. (All hail to the mighty wired earpiece for the handphone!!!!)

Go more practice and practice in circuit. If possible try not to get points for your circuit station. like the timing for each station.

Dont be dishearted.. a friend of mine, took TP 9tries.. till the last one she failed, and seek clearification from TP, and they said "sorry they made minor mistake and ammend the point till 18points.. and atlast she passed..

Moral of story keep trying and fight for yourself..meet and seek advice from real rider, not yaya papaya rider..

My advise is if you applied everything you learn, just enjoy the circuit..nothing can go wronf

Try going for more self-practices... I did more than 10 self-practice sessions before my TP test proper. Partly because I had to wait for quite awhile between my final lesson and the actual TP test. But primarily because it was FUN! Anyway, self-practice sessions are especially useful as you're not under the stress of scrutiny - no TP tester, no instructor, just you, your bike, and the circuit. So take this opportunity to practice and learn and gain confidence. Choose your weakest technical skill and practice - for me, it was the plank and U-turning. Of course, some may say that without any supervision, you can't spot your own mistakes. That may be right. But the aim here is NOT about correcting mistakes - it's about GAINING CONFIDENCE first.

Its weird how you state it as CDDC. Usually its referred to as just CDC.

Just like what the others have said go for more circuit revisions. This is the crucial part where they are anal about what you do specifically. Just keep doing over and over again the part of the circuit that you know you are bad at during this time. :bounce:

The outside road is quite cruel. Let me share my journey. During my TP after going out to the main road, it should be second traffic light where we have to make a right turn. As I was approaching to make a right turn a car cut me from my right and made right turn too forcing me to swerve abit to the left. Now that particular junction has a proper concrete divider to separate the lanes. If you are wondering which junction this is, its the one with a bicycle shop opposite which used to be some machinery shop. I think the TP test routes have changed right? I am not sure where you guys would need to ride now but that was one of the location I had to ride awhile ago. Upon passing the final practical which i believe is practical 8, I could not book for a TP test date when the rest of the group were queueing up to do so. Why? Unfortunately my PDL expiration date is in a week! So I had to book for another RTT and wait a few more months (the only latest available slot). Fast forward to that day I passed my RTT and quickly rushed down to get my PDL (again) and booked for the earliest TP date available. Again had to wait a few more months. I Knowing I might have forgotten some of the necessary checks in the circuit I booked 2 CRs. One was about a a week or so before the TP test date and the other right before the date. Due to the long waiting time I almost forgot all about it so had to keep checking the receipt. Went for the first CR but skipped the second. Why? It was raining too heavily on that day and too late to do a cancellation so the amount is 'burned'. :weep:

The weather was nice and sunny on the TP day. Just like everyone I was nervous but kept telling myself I have done this circuit a dozen or so times so I should just relax. While waiting in the room when the numbers are called I get more nervous but kept telling myself I had no IFs so I should not worry much so its the points that worried me. Overheard a conversation of some guys at the back of where I was seating. They were talking about what bike they are getting when they passed. One guy said nonchalantly that he already paid a downpayment on a bike at a bike shop. So once he passed he just needs to go over and collect his bike. Unfortunately for him his number was called. I became increasingly nervous as more numbers were called out. Then it came. The door was closed! This means I have passed. I actually enjoyed sitting in the dimly lit room watching the somewhat 'scary' video. :cheeky:

From there you should be able to deduce that it took me a long time just waiting. I only have myself to blame though. The advice I could give you is to remain calm at all times. When you are nervous things that can go wrong will go wrong and your mind would not be able to counter due to it being in a messed up state.

You already come so far. Don't give up man. The freedom of a ride is totally worth it. Can't give much info about passing but can only wish you luck. So good luck for your TP in july. xD hope you have passed and gotten your license by now.
