this thread is quite a god-send... LOL darn useful.

Anyway Vivo... i went there couple of times the past wk.

1st time i went i squeeze in together with a car.... much to the chagrin of the vehicle i think. LOL

2nd time i went, i din squeeze. Gonna check out whether they charged.

Could not get the stupid barrier to open. Finally with the help of a fellow biker behind me, who indicated that i should stop my bike in the middle of the lane (barrier) and PRESTO~ the barrier lifts 0 without deduction.

So pai-seh cuz usually bikes r allocated the extreme left or right of the lane. how to noe Vivo is special....

Anyway on the way out... there r 3 barriers and i was looking for the one able to squeeze. it was the Right-most barrier, nearest to the Vivo building that exit that the space is enuf for me to squeeze thru. So i'm not sure if i exit via the normal way, would there be deduction not....

Oh btw, is Heartland Mall over at Kovan FOC or payable? its not on the list so i'm wondering....

vivo city .... gt some barriers can squeeze and some no holes to squeeze ... want to go out .. muz find the barriers with hole ....

hmm ... u mention the vivocity one u stop in the middle of the barrier and the barrier will open when going out? did ur card get scan when u go in or u squeeze thru hole to go in? If i never bypass the barrier when going in ... then going i i must bypass oso rite?

today went to bras basah complex. .... gt hole so i squeeze thru ... then when going realise the hole at the exit nt big for me .... so i push down the slope n walk to the intercom .... tok to the stoopid lady for so damm long then in the end she say ... u ride ur bike to the slope then she can do something .... so i ride up the slope then still cannot go out becoz card nt scanned ... so balanced that and try to press the intercom ... the car behind see y this guy so comical ... in the end .. fed up ... so i go out thru the hole in the entrance .... wonder why so carparks so bike unfriendly .... instructions nt clear

vivo i meant the barrier will lift on the way in. i simply squeezed my way out on the exit.

For bras basah, 1st time actually i tried going in without scanning n going out. Maybe because i manage to squeeze thru... though its quite difficult to squeeze out as the space is tight n i'm balancing the bike on the slope to prevent it from rolling backwards.

2nd time, u just have to stay on the Right side of teh barrier, near to the reader. There r lines demarcated on the floor for bikes.

Of course no deduction, you just entered -_-

Btw guys, please scroll back several pages and read my post about what i gathered from the Vivocity Parking people. By right, it is NOT free. I'll appreciate if someone is to call them up again to confirm this before finalising the idea of having Vivo put under the FOC section.

And yes, these parking gantries CAN differentiate bikes and cars.

I have the best signature.

Just went to Vivo today for a movie...When I was about to enter, saw another Super 4 with pillion talking thru the intercom...So I just position my bike in the centre for the barrier to lift hoping both bikes could enter...and it did lift...

Then when I exit the carpark thru the barrier, once again having my IU scanned...the barrier lift and I exited without any cashcard in my IU....Hence, Vivo is still free for bikes....but I dunno about them charging in the near future...any reliable sources??

Both Ikea & Courts Tampines got parking for bikes....Ikea ones are open-air type...Just turn left before you enter into the sheltered carpark for cars...As for Courts, enter like cars and look to your right upon entering....under shelter...:thumb: for courts and Ikea though Courts one better...:cheeky:

how about:

1. the extra space there at the side of the building is too small to be used otherwise. building a bike park is constructive use of otherwise useless space.

2. the car park fills up pretty quickly and so it's not like they have extra space to carve out more bike parking area besides the one reserved for Ikea co-workers

3. the drivers can load their bulky Ikea merchandise into their cars whereas the bikers won't be loading their new flat-packed table onto their bike

He who hesitates is lost!
