Re: tmax starter engine problems

Just want to tell u all what was the problem.

The device that hold tightens up the chain, that drives the valves,

broke. That resulted in the chain jumping of the cogwheel and freezing

the valves in place. When i tryed to start my Tmax with the el-start I

bent all the valves by pushing the pistons into them.

The bent valves had to be orderd from Japan and the total cost of the

repair and 40.000km service did cost me about 15000NOK = ca 1250GBP

Have any of u heard of this problem before, or am i just an unlucky

wabbit ?

found the above found yahoo maxi group.so wat u guys think?

 common parts like oil filter, spark plug of course they keep stock, but if other parts like brake pads, rollers, belt, Air filters...etc u will have to special order the parts. Which is y i always calculate way in advance to place order. But i have got use to this process already. But sometimes the ordering process on yamaha side will screw up or not arrive after months. U will have to bear with it. But then again tmax parts & components are most lasting than normal scooters. So its quite alright for me. Hope this helps.

Hi swing777 & ongbak, these are my upgraded shocks. Very great difference in damping. Actual performance will tell u once meet up. Guess its time to ask ongbak out once he upgrade his brakelines. So can view each others upgrades.

I have just change my front pad. Rear still waiting for shipment to come.

Yo cheeko,

How did you order your Hyperpro springs? Need to go down or can do over the phone?

u have to go down motoworld to place deposit. Takes abt 2months waiting time. But i got a feeling it will not be worth it to install on a burgman cos ur weight distribution is at the rear. But of course it will improve ur ride comfort.

I change mine cos the original shock is too harsh on my front tires. Wearing & tearing up very fast during high speed rides.

And by the way, do give me ur comment on ur installation of this battery reliver on ur bike. If not comfortable can pm me, i'm interested.
