Qrancshion: 06 Service manual i really duno where to get, mine was given to me by madtmax, thanks to him i'm able to do my own service. Maybe u can get a few guys riding FI tmax share together $$ to order a manual. Those shops also no have the specs, of course will think its an X9 & just whack only :faint: If spoil u also will not noe, cos u dun have any reference.

Anyway dun worry too much if urs is new. Let come out for meetup when u get ur new ride

Adr77: I stay in HDB & am equipment with only a few sizes of screwdrivers, spanners & allen keys for the job & a torque wrench. But can be done. Lucky my neighbours are kind enough to let me DIY my scooty. Brake disc cos between $150 ~ $170. Aftermarket BRAKING cost $350. Still original spares cheaper & last longer

Hello everyone,

I'm Shamsul from KL. Just thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. I got myself a Tmax at the end of last year and I'm riding it everyday especially to/fro work about 70km a day. I hope to join the very interesting discussions here.

Thanks.

Regards,

Shamsul

p/s: Cheeko, madtmax a.k.a. tokscoot tells me that I have you to thank for getting the parts I need. He's been very helpful. Thanks to you both.

 Hi shamss welcome to tmax thread here, hope to share & exchange info with u guys, cos u guys over there rides ur bikes harder then most of us around here, tat y ur feedback is very valuable to me. So I am able to noe which are the parts or components tat wear out faster when use for touring or fast riding. Most of the tmax owners here uses it as daily transport or city riding. So not much info i can gather from them.

 Regarding spare parts for ur tmax, u dun have to worry too much. I can help u take care of it.

Guys, anyone replaced the clutch pump before? Is it just a simple matter of buying the repair kit from AM/AC and getting some skilled labour to do it?

Prompted by a friend (blackbird rider) to check on my clutch pump after his broke down last night. Clutch no pressure / tension when engaged. End up gotta call for tow truck. His is a 6yrs old bike. Just returned from heavy t/jams in BKK.

FJR1300 Thread

The above taken from FJR thread. It is the same for brakes. This is wat happens when the master cylinder components or seals gets worn out. Fluid leaks out & lose pressure. If the master cylinder components fail during high speed corner or rides, i think sure to die :giddy:

Lucky i never follow the advise of some mechanics who say no need to service, only spray contact cleaner can already :faint:

:btw: when servicing time is due as shown on the manual, some things do really have to follow for safety sake.

Hello everyone,

Could I ask whether any of you are using 10W30 instead of 10W40 engine oils in your Tmaxes and why?

Shamsul

lower grade as in semi or fully Syn? Btw how do you guys run in a brand new t-max? i'll have been ask by the mechanic to rev once a while till 140km/h while the engine still new... true enough?

I'm only concerned with the question of whether to use 10W30 or 10W40 as the owner's manual recommends. There are some bikers and mechanics who say 10W40 is "better" in our hot climate even though the manual puts 10W30 first (or is it first because 30 comes before 40).

Then, there are those who say use 10W30 for the first few years or up to 50,000 to 70,000km and then when the engine is a little worn out progess to 10W40 and maybe 10W50 etc.

Can I get some more opinions on this please?

Thank you.

Shamsul
