Hi guys, new guy here.

I just passed my TP not long back and was hoping to get the FZ as my bike. But I intend to change when I can upgrade to 2A. So should I consider trying to find a second hand one for the year or consider another bike? I kinda like this one but hear some ideas from others first, thanks! =)

quite hard to find 2nd hand for fz150i (think goes for abt 4.5 to 6.5k, depending on how 'used' it is), first hand will set you back about 7k cuz COE now quite high. but good bike, the initial pick up is good, but takes awhile to build speed. outruns a stock phantom any day, but loses to those sports bikes and rxz. gives enough power and torque. RPM at 100km is about 6.5 to 7, still can go faster & do more. Generally stable. Fuel consumption is about 40km per liter. Riding position is actually a little high & forward, so go try to see if you like. FZ150i doesn't look stupid with a box. the 2010 model is using tubeless tires and angular headlights.

the stock mirrors and grips are iffy. the fuel tank gauge also a bit dubious, put it on a side stand that day and it didn't want to show petrol level properly until i gave it a full tank to dislodge the float.

it has also succeeded in attracting curious uncles to strike up conversation. i like my bike.

a 2nd hand bike would be a good investment, but be careful when checking the bike for any signs of previous accidents or damage.

the FC of this bike is really hard to beat as 48KM/L is seriously the best i've found for any bike.. even changing to my current ride, i can only squeeze out 42km/l

i'll say it again...

we love touring, but not all loves it..

not every1 is able to go on long tours during the weekdays.. n even weekends will require us to plan ahead..

give it some thought... planning it can be very easy if we juz focus on the route.. but do think abt the ppl involved..

its not juz abt us bro...

i usually join touring groups to various places in m'sia. most recent was port dickson totaling abt 130 bikes and the upcoming 1 is to kuantan, up via NS highway, back via east coast

the amt of planning these guys put into these rides is insane, but in the end, every1 goes and comes back together, safely and has fun along the way

work on it.. as i also said, i'll support but i also wanna know that i can go n come back in 1 piece

Yea... Same for me. Going at breakneck speed over unfamiliar places isn't the way I wanna die or get injured. That's the main reason I'm not keen at all in joining you guys

Hi Bros, how do you tightened the 150i chain, my colleague's bike already 1 year the chain still tight. Jus to check wat's the half-ring thing on both side of the nuts, for chain tightening gauge? Tks

Eh, I read the manual. It says 175 and 200 for front and rear.

dun 100% follow d manual....in d manual states fr tube tyre ...as most of us use tubeless tyre,so d pressure shud b more ...1 thing,d tyre will eat faster if d pressure is too low...check d tyre pressure every 7 days at petrol station/bike shop...

Yup yup... And plus most of us have changed to slightly bigger tyres. Size difference also need to pump different pressure. Best check with mech

I keep forgetting wat tyre pressure to pump. Currently using 240/275kpa. Looks like I pumped too much.....

Anyway I jus changed my mirror to a koso mirror. I accidentally snap the mirror rod while adjusting it...wth! I find the the koso mirror vibrates a lot at high speed. Does anyone has the same prob?

Bike is using stock Kenda tubeless tires. Its a 2010 model. The manual looks updated as it mentions tubeless tire. Wah, feel confused now. 175/200 kPa and 240/280 kPa like got big difference. Underinflated? Overinflated?
