i drop once, clutch lever end broke, bar end change, side stand change... wah heart pain sia...

 

urgh... i kiap super tight le. but my pillion is twice my size ah. if you see me, i think you'll understand ah

 

sis u say like that i know liao... eh sis, dun kiap over tight... will backfire de... at low speed got problem balancing right? u can try light throttle plus rear brake instead of using half clutch... when squeezing stationary cars slowly i use throttle plus rear brake, i find it more easy to balance... u can try it out... wan slow down instead of close throttle use the rear brakes... coz when u close throttle power is cut off, not enough speed, start to wobble, kanchiong open throttle, surge forward, then end up swaying left right left then legs start to come down to stop the bike abruptly...

 

Hi all, I got some qsns.

 

1. Anyone tot of having a 6th gear to attain high speed @ lower rpm. Is the idea feasible?

2. What is the sweet spot of this bike? Best rpm to shift gear? Best rpm for cruising?

3. I use engine brake a lot. Will this harm the engine in the long run?

if wan 6 gears get r15 lor... sweet spot i suppose differs on diff bikes, diff riders... u find the engine getting noisy, vibration getting stronger then its time to change gear... for me i find most comfortable cruising speed is 90 to 110... i dun think engine braking will harm the engine... unless 70km/h u down to 2nd or 3rd gear la... like that i dunno will cause damage anot liao... well my view is when going to stop from about 70km/h, close throttle n brake front n back, front more... dun clutch in, let the speed go down by ur front n rear braking n engine braking, then quite slow liao clutch in down to gear 1 or neutral, or u can down to gear 2 or 3 to slow down... when u changing to lower gear to use engine braking, u clutch in and in the process for that moment ur bike is freewheeling... however doesn't mean dun use engine braking... i'll say there must be a good balance...that's how i feel...

1 - i dont really know bro.

i know your refering to adding a gear making it pretty much similar to the r15 but idont think it is feasible as i think alot of remodelling and a transplant of your block is requires. not sure though just spitballing here.

2 - for me i change at 6500 rpm every time if petrol is not an issue.

if i running low will upshift gears as fast as possible to save petrol.

my rpm for cruising is usually 8-9500 rpm cause i whack all the time.

(psst my bike downhill went 140 leh on the meter yest. for a good 1 min i think!damn happy lah!)

3 - i think its good to use engine brake as you prevent faster wear and tear of your brake pads and shoe.

even bbdc as you to use engine brake.

and before stopping i always kick down to 3rd or 2nd gear to make the bike slow down. but dont do it at high speeds or your bike will start drifting.lol!

@sis dag:- i feel ya sis... last week i had to pillion my brother with 4 packets of 10kg bags of rice in between us n i was crying la... cannot tahan the agony of the space... need to really control the bike as i can see my baby's suspension went really low... i knew she was crying...(sorrie baby)...my bro kept saying "can one...sure can one..." luckily it was only for like 3 traffic lights to reach home...total weight is like me 63kg, bro 72kg, those rice bags 40kg...u do the math... like what step_kang said to kiap the tank tight2 really helps plus don forget to play ur throttle n relax ur arm...cannot too stiff...helps u keep in balance...u ride the bike not the other way around...

bro dun worry that after change clutch spring will hav problem at jams... just make sure ur biting point adjust not to much in... halfway would be good... fyi when stop at traffic light i dun change to neutral de... always gear 1 unless need to use my left hand do something... so dun worry... no kidding... when i just change, the biting point is very very close to the handle bar... wah piang... have to squeeze all the way hard, fingers aching after 20 mins of riding sia... after 2 days went back to adjust biting point to half, immediately no more problem liao...

urgh... my back breaking liao. today whole day of riding cos off day then go out with friend. she super heavy. then i super light weight. had to tahan both our weights and the bike. urgh... back pain liao. anyone got tips on better pillioning? i think i'll need that and i think i also need to build muscles liao. especially back, arms and legs. eh... wait... sounds like whole body.

 

anyway today went bottle tree park for prawning. quite shiok spend that 2 and a half hours. caught many prawns and can barbeque on the spot too. caught almost 1 kg worth of prawns. but got too many people ah. but when after i finish prawning, riding off that time, drop my bike. pillion too heavy le. plus up slope. that's like the 5th time i dropped my baby since i got her liao. urgh.... heart pain.

 

lol! tomorrow i end work early but think i wanna hit the gym. haven't gym in a while le. wasting money sey. maybe at night meet up with you guys ah. i'll message kang bro since i got his number liao.

based on my experience...i neva get any back pain altho ride fr 1400km in 2 days w my sis pillion...after riding 1400km,i drive fr 150km w some traffic jams at KL(u guys know how worse d jam thr)...d main thing is=set on ur mind dat long journey is nothing...if u say "alamak!vry far lah....later i'l b tired" u'll b tired...think positively on anything,sure get d best...datz y i dun feel any aches or anything on long ride...even i ride fr 1.5 hr w a pillion abt 250 sharp bends on narrow road...d road located on a mountain range(Titiwangsa range)...even d slopes???vry2 far different frm spore roads..some of it r 50 degrees...on d slopes also got bends evry 50mtr....right left right left right left...itz like a racing circuit...d road is juz 70% wide as Punggol road...

1 more thing..excercise regularly 2 keep ur ride more enjoyable...i enjoy riding...but not in spore...hate d traffic lites..haha...fr me riding in spore is just 2 commute frm 1 place 2 another...2 enjoy it...go msia...later on i'll try 2 go thailand w d Northern FZians frm msian fz forum...

hi....u get 140kmh downhill...dats good improvement u'd done 2 ur bike...if u can do dat in spore,datz meant u may do 140kmh+ uphill constantly fr 1km...may try it at NSH...but u'v 2 know d method how 2 make ur bike faster on NSH..alot of sporean 2B class owners dunno how 2 make d bike faster on NSH...even i get 147-150kmh fr 20sec uphill...not downhill...

i'd made more thn 60Kkm riding bike,40Kkm driving car(manual mostly...hate autos!!)...all road pattern i'd tried since i got liscence 2&half years ago...i'm not a polite person whn cum 2 driving...sumtimes i act as d road is mine whn driving a manual cars..auto???aiya!!itz a lag altho alot of high auto technology launched...7 speed triptronic is nonsense...7 speed manual will b great...autos cost high maintanance..sum more power lag!!no response 2 wat i intend 2 do...manuals i can overtake 3 trailers w ease altho d car frm opposite direction is almost reaching..auto???even 1 trailer cannot...

wah bro cable wear out fast will snap easier ah? i didn't know this sia... last time i went hlc when changing clutch spring they took out my whole clutch cable then pour oil into the cable and let it flow throughout the whole cable, so my cable should be safe right? coz the mech told me oil the cable like that can last very long... alson only told me the clutch plate will wear out faster... u sure clutch cable also ah... if yes i better get spare one too...

 

 

we met at extreme, marcus being poisoned by my bike , change panel lights to white and got the stainless steel weight n bar end slider... i change my fuel guage panel light to blue... skg_86 n flint came too to chit chat... then after skg_86 left, we went makan, then flint left, two of us went lavender met with the big brothers of our baby fazers... alot of fazer park together la... damn nice sight... manage to identify some forumers such as pichudot, dolf, palmer, yatz86... wah i love yatz86 bike's looks... chio sia... with full fairings... :lovestruck:then after that dag sis came down too... today happy happy... met skg_86 n dag first time...

 

 

next meet is at hlc in the afternoon after 4.30pm... who's interested? currently got marcus, dag n me...

yoz all! met up with kang and marcus yesterday. was fun checking out the bikes around. dang... i seriously gotta do some work with my bike but first off! my dang box. can't lock. so going down with kang later to hlc get that done and also get an evaluation on it. woot! hope to meet up again soon.

when the cable wears out n becomes rusty..in time will definitely snap one.. experienced tat quite a few times...lucky got extra cable when there is no shop opened in the wee hrs... the racing clutch spring will create stronger tension..tat time at extreme if you compare ur clutch tension n mine...urs is stronger...n if u got see the spring itself, its bigger n thicker than the stork.. thus the tension...well the lubrication of the oil really helps a lot n can last for mths... but we usually don pay attention to the cable n when it snaps it'll be too late... when the feeling of rusted wire going through the cord when u pull in the clutch, better stand by lor...

@skg lol! sorry ah... you gotta understand my friend's size is really twice of mine. so when braking that time i gotta tahan her weight also so actually had to arch my back so she don't fly. you can ask marcus. think he also faces the same thing when he pillion his gf. anyway.. mountain route riding sounds fun. eh... some time in the future bring us go jalan ah!

when the cable wears out n becomes rusty..in time will definitely snap one.. experienced tat quite a few times...lucky got extra cable when there is no shop opened in the wee hrs... the racing clutch spring will create stronger tension..tat time at extreme if you compare ur clutch tension n mine...urs is stronger...n if u got see the spring itself, its bigger n thicker than the stork.. thus the tension...well the lubrication of the oil really helps a lot n can last for mths... but we usually don pay attention to the cable n when it snaps it'll be too late... when the feeling of rusted wire going through the cord when u pull in the clutch, better stand by lor...

lol! jealous is it? you want can come jalan jalan with us also. we go very happening place like hlc mechanic shop with lots of uncles to serve us and got nice ambience of LOUD mechanic sounds plus nice lomantic 90s beng music. of cos la... sometimes marcus like to chap in then we do a threesome but marcus too fixed on his Athena liao. lol!!! especially now that his Athena got nice high pitched scream

 

anyway... that time i complain about the bugis incident where i come back 15mins later got summon officer near my bike. lol! till now no signs of summons yet. *cross fingers, pray hard*
