Anyway, forgot about the chain lube brand you guys talked about a few months back. May I know what's the brand again?

And what's the size for our bike cover? Mine got stolen. :dots:

I'm using "Holt" simply because it was sold at my local Shell station when I first wanted to lube my bike chain. It's pretty good. My opinion is that any purpose made chain lube in a can will do and that the key is frequent lubrication (every 300-500km). Some people use engine oil to lube too.

cheers

hey ramsnake, it's been awhile. oh i kinda forgot that revo is the fuel additive. was thinking that it was a new engine oil. i'm using K&N filter so i don't have to change it for awhile. your bike must be extremely loud now with K&N filter and the IXIL exhaust. how's the fuel consumption so far?

fleas! what new engine oil?y do u feel castrol is better?

Hey dotless

No I didn't fit Ixil, only K&N. It's loud enough with the K&N plus I don't really like the higher pitched exhaust note of the Ixil. It's a slip on exhaust end-can, so any power gain will be minimal anyway. Only plus point for Ixil is that its very light compared to the stock end-can. I'm thinking of re-installing my air-box without restricting the high-flow properties of the K&N but haven't had the time to get down to it. This will dampen the sound a bit but still provide the high airflow of the K&N.

Fleas, the Castrol you're using is fully synthetic? BTW, dotless, you'll know if an engine oil is "better" for your bike. When I changed the oil from what the previous owner used (either OWS or Castrol because she serviced at Bukit Batuk), the engine is smoother and gear changes are also more accurate and smooth. This is often the case when changing to fresh oil anyway (most of the time). The best way to tell is after the initial 1000 or 2000km after oil change. If its still the same "smoothness", its a good oil.

As you've been using OWS all this while, you'd probably tell the difference immediately. That is remember how your bike felt like after your previous oil changes. Compare this to the new oil after the change.

I'm using Motul 300V now. Bike still rides like just after change though I've put in 2500km. Intended to change at 5000km but as I'm going to Camerons, will be changing before the trip. Going to try Pennzoil next.

cheers

oh yea, the new oil is royal purple i think. im still using castrol and yes its fully-synth. i assume its either the oil thickness or really the quality of the oil

Hey guys, need to correct on some thing. REVO is not an addictive that is added to ur fuel tank. It is an oil that is added the same time as u change ur engine oil.

It provide better performance for the bike like torque speed and pick up. It also helps to protect ur engine, and reduce the noise, vibration of ur bike. It's heard that it is best to use with motul engine oil. Haha.

yea motul is pretty good from what i heard, but its also quite expensive :

Expensive is relative. I've touched on this before but can't find the post now...

The $33 oil can last more than 5000km. Compare that to the $18 or whatever oil that is recommended to be changed at 2000km... Go do the math!

Not to mention, the $33 oil will provide better protection to your engines. I'll choose the $33 oil anytime. :)
