Hi,

Anyone knows where to get in Singapore Vision X Solstice 10W LED lights ? Do they come with mounting brackets, wires , relay and switch ?

hiya! i got them from http://www.limbat.com.sg. went to his shop and saw all the lights he had available and settled on a set of this. comes in either flood, euro or spot configurations. i bought the euro configuration as it sits right in the middle. they come with mounting brackets and the wire connectors. you have to get the switch somewhere else (should be easy and cheap to find). don't think you need a relay as the current draw is really small.

I'm planning of upgrading the stock bulb of my cb400 revo headlight to hid lights as the stock just isn't bright enough.

Which one of these would you recommend?

As further above this page I changed the stock H4 globe with a whiter one but at night time is still not bright enough when riding thru the twisty mountains. I believe my best choice is to go for a hid setup. Which of the above ones on the ebay link would you recommend or are there others I should look for? Thanks.

Thanks to everybodies help on the previous occasion I was looking at upgrading the light on my revo (can be found further up in previous posts). I had upgraded from the stock H4 globe to a CB400 Philips X-treme power H4 but it was still no where near as bright as I would have liked it to be for when riding at night in the country and other dark areas. After thinking it over for a while decided to go for the full HID conversion. I had heard/read some negatives about blowing fuses/bulbs but a friend has done this exact mod on his bike and in the last 3 months nothing has happened. The results are below you be the judge.

ResmeN, I understand that different countries has different climate, which does influence on using what type of lighting, would like to ask, at your country there, do you encounter thick misty fogs or heavy downpour whereby visibility is down to an arm's length?

IMHO, I didnt contemplate to convert my headlights to HID, not purely due to my local legislations, but because the roads I'll be on, may encounter the above mentioned.

In such situations, the beam by the HID, will become reflected and thus becomes worse in visibility.

Not saying HID is bad, but under such cases, I rather would have a yellowish beam to, at the very least, shine thru the fog or rain.

The ones that I'd favoured was Osram Nightbreaker, which doesnt cause a glare towards other road users but still lights up in dark areas, and the one that Im using now, is Osram All Season, which IMO, is comparative bright against the Nightbreaker, thou doesnt throw further, but in heavy rains & fogs, my visibility is not that poor.

On a side note though, All Season is not compliant to my local laws.. :sian:

Hi Kev's, thanks for asking because if one doesn't ask then you will never find out. Where I live in Australia we don't encounter many thick misty fogs. We have heavy downpours which during the day are fine but at night time the improved light beam of the hid will help. I am a part of a social riding group in Melbourne and we go on regular night time, all day, weekend, overnight rides to various parts of the country. What I found by doing the night time rides whether in a group or by myself is that the stock CB400 light is very weak to the extent I think it's dangerous to ride with in very dark conditions. Initially I upgraded the stock bulb with a Philips X-treme power but it wasn't enough. My main reason for getting a HID conversion is to see better while riding at night, for other road users to see me and me see them better riding at night, to be able to see corners better in unlit dark country areas but most importantly to be able to see any wildlife (kangaroos, koalas, wombats etc) crossing my path as that can be nasty.

Here are some comparison pics to make it easier for people to decide how many K to go for. I went with the weakest at 4300K which doesn't cause any glare towards oncoming traffic, if anything makes them notice me more and most importantly improves my night time vision.

Rode thru some twisty country roads last night where in some places I would normally use hi beam with the hids didn't even think about it as they were never required.

With a single retro style H4 headlight the CB400 using 4300K HID conversion will never cause glare towards other road users. Some cars have these hid lights in 6000 or 8000K and not to mention 2 of them. Now that might affect oncoming traffic. All I can say is the difference is like day and night.

The laws here are as long as it is not too bright it will be okay as the police are too busy doing other stuff to worry about what a motorcycle is doing unless you ride very fast or run a red light. From my readings on this forum it would seem there are very strict rules and regulations in Singapore which they make you adhere to.

You should have gotten your HIDs to be somewhere around 5000K burning temp colour... That's the best for high visibility and brightness. Not too white, not too yellow.
