Without going into technicalities, it is touted to seal better than the O ring seal and takes deformation better. Also, the price is more expensive than the O ring chain.

Depends on where you get the chain.

I got mine from my bikeshop which I do think is somewhat more expensive than elsewhere. About $100++. And mine is the cheapest of the range. Then again, the workmanship charges have been included into the cost price of the chain ... So you see .....
