hi guys. anyone know if its normal for the 03 fz1s to heat up very fast and also for the voltage to hit a maximum high of only 12.8V . is it dat fazer special thats why the charging is not at the normal 13++V ??

bro, thou i got no knowledge on fz1 gen 1, but i think this should be the same for all bikes in terms of battery voltages irregardless of bikes...

i think either your battery is going down soon or your rectifier is not working well...

you should get around 12v or 12.5v when on idling and get around 13.5v to 14v while running or charging...

if u feel something fishy going around, i would suggest u go check it out at your trusted mechanic...

good luck bro! :thumb:

Hi Yatz86,

I like how your bike looks :)

Are you riding fazer1 or 6?

Are the side box wider than your handle bars?

What capacity is the box, cost of setup (box & bracket) & brand?

cheers.

Thx for your reply dude!

still got some queries for all helpful souls.

I noticed there are fazer with exhaust under seat & side too.

1) when is the 1st version (year) that has under seat exhaust?

2) which year is the latest fazer 600 version?

3) road tax how much for 600?

4) how much is season parking for hdb open carpark?

thx

yes, yamaha have stopped production for fz6. basically 2007 onwards model are more or less the same.

price always varies from bike to bike. but i think for s model it would be about 10k+.

Hi bro pichudot & other senior fazerians, hmm ive been wanting to know the above cos I just installed a voltmeter for my 1yr old FZ6N....i do get get reading of about 11.9 to 12.2 when idling and it goes to a max of 13.3V when running...BTW, whats ur advise when should we change the rectifier and batt? After 1 year or when the voltage reading is no longer within a certain range? Any self maintenance that we could possibly do to extend the batt and rectifier life?...Ive just looked up the owner's manual n dun seem to find any battery reading info anywhere...Tks...

battery is the norm for fz1 gen 2 but i dun think it is for gen 1...

try to ask your mechanic to troubleshoot into which is not working instead of telling you roughly here roughly there... to change all these three stuffs, coil, battery & rectifier will cost you a bomb!

if you think that your mechanic cmi or trying to earn more monie by telling u to change all these three or more, it's time to seek for more opinion from other mechanics already...

good luck bro...

1. fz6 s1 & s2 are having under seat exhaust while fz1 gen 1 & gen 2 are on the side...

2. fazer 600 are antique bikes already while fz6 s2 is the latest in model but also phase out already from 2009 onwards...

u may find the above information & comparison by doing a wiki search...

3. sorry forgot already but u can find the information in onemotoring...

4. it's the same for all bikes irregardless it's a cl 2b or cl 2a or cl 2 bike... how much r u paying for your bike now? it will be the same...

may i know what are the additional electronics that you have?

for your idling voltage, it's kinda low already but it's still function-able except that you have to start monitor already...

your battery is going to die soon if i'm not wrong...

for your reading of 13.3V during running, it means that your rectifier is still quite okay...

if you see that your voltage drops below 13V during running, it could most probably means your rectifier also gone already...

yes there is some self maintenance that you can take up with to keep your battery healthy and prolong its life...

that is to do battery maintenance by charging it manually instead of relaying on your rectifier...

Hi, pichudot,

Just for your and everybody's info.

No need. If change bike, just bring down some documents to prove that you are owning the new bike to HDB branch and they can "replace" the bike number in your blue parking disc and everything will carry on from there. :)

I just changed my bike number with Queenstown HDB Branch in mid-May this year when I upgraded to my current ride.

GIRO will still carry as per normal. No to cancel and re-apply for your new bike number. :)

Cheers. :)
