other differences between the 2:

headlight sizes, blinker types and possibly electrical components( to be confirmed)

it appears that the agent stocks drzs meant for the eu/ australia market thus the lack of a rear brake light that resembles a shoebox (the u.s bikes are endowed with that ). sg parallel imports seem to be made for the japan market, i base that assumption on visual observations alone and i could be wrong so do feedback if i am.

nice of you to take the pics to shed the light..

now i know what's a cush drive..

someone did mention it's hard for the PI bike to change to aftermarket spocket due to the cush drive?

the plastic cover the comes with PI bikes looks nice.. could be nicer if decorated with stickers or laminate with CF..

i didn't notice any difference between the 2 rear sprockets though. if rear cannot change then change the front lor :D just kidding lar, anyway bro, u also riding sm/ scrambler?

just recently bought a 2nd hand DRZ SM..

seems like you are scouting for one, just cant decide agent or PI..

PI seems to be a better buy, except for it's signal lights and warranty..

i'm getting the pi model in sept. now just waiting for coe bidding and my birthday to pass (my insurance is ~$200 cheaper after birthday). hopefully the bike won't give me any electrical hiccups or mechanical probs, the shop give me 6mths warranty for certain things but provided i service; change oil at their shop for the running in period :)

yeah the pair system is circled alright. looks like everyone hates it lol

for those who are wondering wtf a cush drive is, i quote wikipedia:

A cush drive is a part of a motorcycle drive train that is designed to reduce stress from high torque engines. A common design is made of three major pieces: the wheel, the sprocket assembly, and the rubber damper. The wheel and the sprocket assembly fit together with five sections much like two hands woven together. In between the contact of the two assembly are rubber blocks. This makes it so the wheel and the sprocket have a dampening layer between them, and the rubber blocks reduce wear and fatigue of the metal assemblies.

on another bike, it looks like this

6mths will be good to tide over the critical period..

after run in, wack the bike.. shouldnt have any problems with new bike..

then after 6mths can start adding in accessories.. :bouncefire:

oh i see.. mine is already removed.. now makes me wonder if the previous owner seal up the hole.. must go check later..

Cush drives are to cushion the power delivery to the rear wheel however, in the process, loss of some transmission power is inevitable.

Cush drive is generally for big cc road bike or DS, SM included. For dirt bikes, cush drive is not preferred.

just checking with u guys...from wat i observed in the pics n compared it to my own bike..i feel tat my bike is a agent bike...08 model..

kept telling the uncle at the shop i buy from tat mine seems like agent bike..but he say his shop onli bring in Parallel Imports..coz only get frm japan..tats y he say more expensive..

now suddenly after goin tru this thread..i'm kinda paranoid that mine might be an agent bike n not PI....so i'm just wondering..is a PI more expensive than Agent ones??

and he also kept telling me no different 08 n 09 model..but if he say its 09 model in the first place but end up 08 model, am i paying more?..

coz honestly..i am happy with my bike...but just dun wanna have that regret of being cheated at the back of my mind...

please..can anyone clarify??

if say mine does turn out to be an agent bike n not PI...is ther any kinda warranty label or sumthin that i nid to have??...

and also till now, i ask the uncle why i buy 1st hand no owner's manual..he kept sayin parallel import one dun have...o_O

if anythin..i wanna make sure that mine is confirmed an agent bike..

n at least i wanna feel that i still have local warranty shud it be an agent one...

agent!!! its better got warranty.

warranty is for how long? What mileage?

How time flies...

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.
