you first need to tell us you changed to what digital speedo..?

brand, etc..

the RPM shown on the digital speedo may not be accurate..

This problem is similar to unplugging the speedcut sensor connector at the speedo area.

Read through this http://hondacb400.myfreeforum.org/Japanese_Grey_imports_400cc_180KMPH_RESTRICTOR_about5.html

It is about removing the speed restrictor. It is mentioned inside that by remove power supply to the meter, you will encounter misfiring at 5500rpm if your bike has speed cut.

Check the 3-wire connector that is mentioned in this thread. Your new meter should provide the same signals to this connector as your stock to prevent this misfiring problem.

Most likely this connector is left hanging somewhere when you install the new meter

Alternatively you can do what is mention in the link, do a bypass of your speed cut and your problem should be solved.

what is spec1 power cut. i had tried hitting 180km (as shown on meter) and it does not go up further, neither i experienced power cut.

what does this mean? my fren who rides spec1 says can go to "190" which is not indicated on the meter but is the one box after 180.

All JDM bikes produced after 1998 had this 180kph powercut.. even on those monster cars GTR and NSX..

you friend that goes "190" is the meter error.. i also experienced that, but my GPS told me my max speed that time is only 179kph..

the only Super 4 without powercut is Project Big 1.

the only possible way would be installing the redrev..

how is the RPM sensor connected?? if it's coiled around the plug cable, it'll be erratic and not stable..

try to hot wired it onto the ignition coil.. it's more stable this way..

and the grounding for the RPM sensor also must be wired properly..
