The day i quit riding,

Is when those whom I love,

no need to run in.. it has been run in at factory for testing.. unless u just overhaul the engine den u need to run in...

change engine oil after the first 1k...

i thought must run in to set the piston? if urs new bike, ur milage 00000x, then maybe u run in for 1k (safe) then change e oil. no high rev, no above 80-90.

Hmm, I am a noob I must admit,

But what I understand is that there are two schools of thought with regards to running in. The first one gives great power and allows the bike to perform better than the second method. However, your engine may not really last beyond 5 years. The first method is seriously riding like you stole it.

The second method allows the bike to last for far longer but with less power. The second method is basically riding at a limited RPM of 6-7k. Some suggests a speed limit, but I think an RPM limit is better. Ride it for about 2000km then engine oil change. Then ride it for the next 1500km at maybe 7-8k rpm. Then Engine oil change. Then you are good to go.

A third opinion is that running in is only necessary in the past as technology wasn't good enough to calibrate your pistons. Now for smaller bikes running in is far less important as the technology has advanced somewhat. So running in is only necessary if you were to overhaul the bike. And more importantly if you were to bore your block.

I would still run in but perhaps not in two stages, just for the first 1500km maybe.

the first oil change shd b done within the 1st 50km. then subsequently every 200km till hit mileage of 1000km. no fully synthetic during run-in, mineral oil will do. after the 1000km u can change to any oil u like and ride at any speed u like.
