Maybe its S4 rectifier. RVF original rectifier comes with black/dark grey fins (if im not wrg). Anyway, S4 rectifier lasts abt a yr. so no worries

 

Oh.. they already changed it for me while i was working.

 

But hope that my rectifier that they changed for me is not a lauya one.

Once, a mech in a very popular Bt. Merah store let me choose between rectifiers...I could go with either an S4 one, or the stock RVF one.

 

Pricing-wise, it was either $70+ or $110. As I needed the bike for temporary transportation back then, I picked the S4 one.

hey guys... i wonder if i replace my original side mirrors to a smaller type.... find it difficult to squeeze thru traffic.... wonder which type will fit...

ya, it works but dont buy the original krr mirror (elephant ear kind). It looks ugly. Use the $10 krr/Tzm mirror types.

1 qns.. Does different brands/types ( s4 and RVF ) of rectifier makes any different on the bike? e.g. loss of power? loss of acceleratation? or?

 

I took back my bike liao. my bike is now smoother than before i send for repair. but when i accelerate, the power is not as good as before. It seems that i gonna throttle more in order to get more power...

 

 

any comments on this?

the best is 2 take off e side mirrors..... it looks much nicer..... but theres always a price 2 pay.... hahaha... but still i prefer w/o mirrors....

actually for rectifiers i got my own experience as i have tried stock,s4 and gsxr before. all the recs will last so long your coil ,bat and bike in good condition but the one the last me the longest was the gsxr. I guess mygsxr lst me longest was due to i change lots of other parts of my bike previously so it last better.

normal la. but tip top condition takes maximum 2 times to start.

Heng i just now went to bike shop to check. right after i off my engine, i went to told the mechanic my problem, then he wana start my bike, cannot start liao. press got crank sound but wun start. think battery dies off liao. duno what could be the problem..

The mechanic had confirmed that my retificer spoil. burned liao.

 

he replaced for me. he told me only cost $65. isit very cheap? coz i heard retificer costs $100+++

I think u'll just have to throttle abit when u start happens to most of the rvfs here or maybe u wanna check out the idling could be low for your bike to idle normally.

smt must be wrong thats why mine must press so many times right? any bro's rvf facing the same problem as me?

 

my idling when warm, is 1.4k. if i turn higher, wont it become higher when warm?

Valve clearance is different from top overhaul - valve clearance is the adjustment of the shims inside the Valve covers. - $200.

 

S4 rectifiers costs abt $50-60 been using on my rvf for abt a year no major problems till nw.

He told me he changed RVF one. bigger he said. better. coz i know the mechanic quite well. ( though i do not whether he lied anot? but he seems good to me )

 

he said that my bike loss of power might be due to spark plug had been injured during my rec burn.

 

change of spark plug should be no problem liao.
