This is what an RVF rectifier looks like, currently certified by Honda.

It is located at the left side of the bike, underneath where a rider's left leg is situated when seated on an RVF

 

To put it into layman's terms, how it works is like this:

 

While your engine rotates, it also generates electricity. The rectifier will take that (AC) electricity and sorta neatens it out (convert it into DC). This "neat" electricity can then be used to charge up your bike's battery while idle/on the move.

 

 

It's a common case for rectifiers to malfunction and/or burn. Can you guess what happens when it malfunctions, given the information above?

hi this coming may i getting my 2a and i'm quite interested in rvf . hope got some advise from u all. is rvf a very problematic bike (as in always spoilt) ? how does the servicing of bike like (is it like honda sp that take out carb, block wash and burn the valve then change gasket ?) ? rvf roughly how many km / liter ? thanks for helping
