wat my fren do is, he took out e pillion seat, unscrew e seat, left only e plastic thing den screw it to e single seater

i do that too. U just have to undo the brackets for the OEM pillion seat and fix it on to the single seater and viola! no need to buy or special make brackets.

But i did buy a spare pillion seat from JPmontoya so that i do not need use tools when swapping between my single seater n the pillion seat.

hope this info helps.

From sp to rvf definately there's a great changes in the price of servicing/maintianance. Its depend on indivisuals wheather one can tahan to own the bike.

here's a basic estimated servicing/maintainance cost for rvf, prices may varies.

Wash Carb + Tuning : $80

Fully syth. 4T $20 X 3 : $60

Oil Filter : $15

NGK Spark Plug $16 X 4 : $64

Total : $219

Compare it with ur current sp servicing, wat do u think? Can do ur sp servicing for 4 times rite? :D Personally i think rvf is a very expensive bike to own for its class. But if u can tahan, its a damn good bike to ride. :cheer:

well..if u take away the Tuning and SparkPlugs.... the regular servicing change aint that bloodsucking.

Sparkplugs can last me a year or 10000km. as for Tuning....you do not need to tune the bike every now and then. been about 1/2 year since last tune up and bike is still good.

Engine oil can try Semi-syn to save $$ esp if u use the bike for transport only and not regular track use.

actually depend how you use your bike also....if you like to speed with your bike on friday and saturday night....or go malaysia regularly....go touring, den you need to spend more on the maintainence...otherwise....use for normal transport...maybe sometime go fetch babes for a movie etc.....i think we can save some from the full service part. What do you think?

u guys normally go where to service ur RVF huh?

4-stroke service is quite standard for all bikes.

Assuming a 5000km or 3 month cycle.

U do a major and minor servicing alternately. 1st quarter - major, 2nd quarter - minor, 3rd quarter - major, and 4th quarter - minor...

Major servicing

- Plugs

- Engine Oil

- Oil Filter

Minor servicing

- Engine Oil

Every year end, or 4th quarter, you can also change the air filter, wash/retune the carbs. If you use a K&N air filter, you can wash it every 6 months to a year.

Your plugs do not need to be changed every time. In fact you can do your plugs once a year also. Just get the mech to take it out and check/clean every 6 months to see if it needs to be changed. Oil filter. They're good for 2 servicing intervals.

Do not listen to any mech who tells you that you need to change EVERYTHING, EVERYTIME.

yup yup..the rvfians here swears by K&T. Most of them have positive reviews abt the shop.

Clifford is quite experienced in RVFs as many rvfians past n present go to him.

But as with all motordiams...go with someone who frequents the shop to ensure u dun get chopped.

The regulars there are Buzzbeam, Benson and Ken. U can ask them to bring u along the next time u service yr bike.

hello..that time i oso in a dilema when i wanted to buy rvf. i had a super4 on hand...so what i do is shop around lor.

Motordiams kinda like give abit more assurance than private party sales (which can be unpredictable) coz once u set a agreed price, the deal is done and u push out yr new bike.

i guess i was lucky to find my bike and the trade in value wasnt that bad as compared to the rest of the shops.

so impt thing is to find yr RVF 1st.
