They are out-source wardens and doesnt not fall under the supervision of TPs..

I realise 1 thing, see white clothes ppl catching vehicles for various traffic offence is definitely labelled as a TP..

LTA has contracted six traffic wardens from a private company at $34,000 a year to take down the licence platenumber

LTA is in charge of bus lane enforcement, not TP. The article clearly says LTA. And it merely describes something that has been in place for years already - we've all seen outsourced wardens doing bus lane enforcement for some years now.

Bus lanes are currently enforced by United Premas. They are very trigger happy coz the more offenders they catch, the more pay they get.

Bus lanes are so stupid...

We have to sacrifice 1/3 of the road's width for buses that most of the times is ferrying a couple of beings only.

And worse still, despite there being a bus lane, some basket buses chose to ditch the bus lane and want to fight for a piece of the road with other road users. Example? Check out lentor avenue. Give them bus lane on the left most lane, but buses still want to fight with other cars for the middle lane

yea... those are the latest... AMK-Lentor was earlier this month... more to come under the Land Transport Master Plan (LTMP)... *sigh* now 144km with Bkt Panjang & Upp. Bkt Timah...

3.2.1 Bus lanes/full-day bus lanes

There are currently 120km of bus lanes and 7.6km of full-day bus

lanes (FDBL) in the city. Such right of way for buses has improved

bus speeds, especially with FDBL which has improved bus speeds

by as much as 16%. To enhance public transport journey experience,

LTA will increase the bus lanes to 150km and treble the FDBL

to 23km by June 2008. Our aim is to have an extensive network of

bus lanes/FDBL so that buses travel unimpeded, even under heavy

traffic conditions during peak hours.

3.2.2 Give way to buses exiting from bus bays

A campaign of giving way to buses exiting from bus bays was introduced

in 2005 to allow buses to exit from the bus bays with minimal

delays. A trial conducted by SBST found that 9% of journey time

was spent by buses trying to exit bus bays. To enhance the effectiveness

of the scheme, LTA will make it mandatory by end 2008 for

motorists to give way to buses through the traffic scheme as shown

in Figure 3.1.

maybe they put more bus lane... then traffic get more congested... then say, "see! congested!"... so they put up more gantries... good huh... haha... :giddy:

I think they should excuse bike into bus lane. Cos seriously bike is not causing any obstruction... Not like cars.... Already car is bulky, needless to say the kuku way they drive. But i mean bikes leh.... we dun even take up any space. And actually if we were to lane split with all the other cars is lagi dangerous lor. They should consider that. And moreover in taiwan there is a think call BIKE LANE lor.... why we dun have.... basket. They should call is "B" Lane. Meaning Bike and Bus lane. Cars go "F" one side muahahaha..

Guys???? Why are we talking non-stop about bus lane? Its not that much worth discussing about. Why don't we just abided the timing for bus lane and thats it or we really have to use bus lane? Coz the subject and the issue discuss is way out of topic....its about TP/ROV operations.
