hi guys, just got caught speeding on mandai road. still under 2b probation. it was the speeding 21km/hr to 30km/hr. my 2b probation ends on 28/07/13. would i still remain at 6 points after the probation date or will i get 18 points after the probation date?

Getting your licenses revoked is much more painful than dying.Don't drink and drive.:thumb:

Most probably 6 points, and after a year when you get your 6 demerit, then it returns to 24, and in the mean time you can't go for class 2A.

as points below 12 cannot go for TP.

Just what i think.

Edit:

Current 2B just past riders all want to chiong.

don't know chiong for what, chiong already, red light infront.

camera infront.

Ohh, didn't know below 12 points can't go for class 2A. I supposed the same rule applies to class 2.

You can go for lessons, but high chance won't be able to select Test dates. until your demerit points are cleared.

I read the driving center's FAQ they said that i would not be able to book a TP test date if i have accumulated more than 12 demerit points. But in this case, i accumulated 6 points. So its still well within accumulating of 12 demerit points.

Based on what you guys are saying, like that means if you suay suay kena 1 demerit point for not wearing helmet properly, you also unable to take your TP test, be it for whatever classes of license you are getting. which sounds kinda stupid lei.

You only have 13 points to begin with, not the usual 24 as you're on probation.

so after 6 points, you're left with 7 points.

If you have a balance of lesser than 12 points, you're not eligible for TP.

But all said, the above sentence is just my thoughts.

you could go enroll and not heed this instead.

Afterall, I'm not working with TP, and I'm not speeding.

EDIT:

BTW, not wearing helmet properly warrants a 1 demerit point?

Please factual stuff.

Hmmm, new regulations? From what I remembered, you cannot accumulate more than 12 demerit points or have outstanding cases which may result in accumulation of more than 12 demerit points. I believe that this is mainly for those who are no longer on probation, if you accumulate more than 12 points, you cannot take the test. This is because once you have passed, you must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points or your license may be revoked. Therefore, if you have, for example, 13 demerit points, if you were to take the test, you immediately exceed the 12 demerit point allowance.

However, from my understanding, if you have 12 demerit points awarded against you, you can still take the TP test, although the centre will most likely advise you to wait for your points to reset before you do so. In this scenario, if you pass, you will have 0 points left for "spending". Any demeritable offence will lead to accumulation over 12 points, earning you a possible revocation.

From the SSDC website, you cannot take theory/TP if you have accumulated (gained, awarded, issued) more than 12 points.

Everyone starts with 0 points. You get issued points for offences.

Probation riders, accumulate more than 12 points, revoke.

Qualified riders, accumulate more than 24 points, suspend.

  • 1 month later...

just got caught speeding along upper thomson road sometime last week.

brief history:

may 2013 > class 2 / under probation so 12 points

nov 2013 > speeding offence (-8 points so left with 4 points)

may 2014 > probation over

so my question is:

1. when will my points be regained and to what?

2. do i get additional 12 points (since after probation) in may 2014?

- which means effectively i will have 12 + 4 points in may 2014?

- or do i stay with 4 points till nov 2014?

Hi to all!

Hope you guys can help me

Am a p-plate rider currently , yesterday was at Clementi area .

I was at the most right lane , wanting to turn right, the traffic light was green but red arrow shown. Then I'm at the pedestrian crossing , first line. Will I get any demerit points or anything ? Is there any camera in that area? The road is somewhere near After Singapore poly ! And if really got demerit point? How much? 12points? When will the letter come ? I commuted the offense at 8pm and I checked online at 10pm , my demerit point is still 0. When will the points be updated? Hope you guys can help me out! Don't mind can message / whatsapp me at 81257418.. Thank you guys so much !

hi just to check, my sub rider (my brother) got caught in beating red light.

so the letter will come to me (main rider) but how is the points incur, it wont go to me right since im not riding.

how should i let TP know so that its my sub rider who rode?

default will go to you. You'll need to write back to tell them who is actually riding. They will prob have a picture. So it will help in identifying the actual rider.

I think you should have received the notice by now...

Hi guys just wondering. Let's say if I commited a traffic offence which carries demerit points. Then I appeal and dragged the date to pay the fine. Then drag till cannot drag anymore (3months) at last I paid the fine. Will the demerit points take effect on the date of payment or the date of offence? Cause all the while when I was appealing, no demerit points were given to me yet.

Hi all motorpals,

Just wanna ask, just received a letter from traffic police that i beat a traffic light.i just got my class 2A less than a year.can i appeal against my offence? If the offence carries 12 demerits and a fine, can i still ride a motorbike? What about my class 2B licence?

2B, 2A, 2, 3, 4, 5 all share the same points. Doesn't matter. Lose one. Lose all.

If you have had 0 offences you can try and appeal if you have a legit reason for beating the red light. Maybe chased by a crocodile or king cobra kinda stuff... They might consider your case and see if they can accept it.

you can check how many points was deducted. if you have 2A likely you can collect 24 points. But once you get 24 points. U will lose all your license. You points will be returned back to full 1 year after your LAST offence. Meaning if you speed say 6 months down the road. You have a total of 15 points... You need to wait ANOTHER year from that last offence of speeding before you can get back ALL the points.
